So I'm working on this hack here, and so far I'm adding the custom music. It worked just great, until I tested it! The sound efffects sound weird (and they are all original too!). Take a listen below (I captured my screen in an emulator here for show): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/159q3wkvxl7jq22/screen-capture.webm?dl=0

Aside the low quality of the recording and the lag it caused, the sounds are very off. I wouldn't have a problem with it (they sound kinda cool) if the sounds weren't different for each level! It's a little inconsistent. If needed, I can provide any extra files neccessary.

I'm using AddmusicK to add the music to the ROM, which I expanded to 4MB.

Note: The sound effects are not late in the actual game, that's just the recording quality I could get.
What does the Yoshi say? Well, "Yoshi". duh!
I used the sampled versions of "And My Name's Booster" and "Stickerbush Symphony".

I edited the link, tell me if this works: https://www.dropbox.com/s/159q3wkvxl7jq22/screen-capture.webm?dl=0

Hi everybody! I'm very excited to announce that I'm working on my very first SMW hack! It's called Game Of Mario, the story is about Mario fighting to run away from Death. Because Mario died, he went to hell, however, Mario got bored and decided to run away. I plan to use a variety of gimmicks for levels, so I don't know if it really is exactly a kaizo hack. I also wanted to note that because it is my first hack, I may ask for a lot of help. Please be patient, I'm not very good with this stuff, but I know how Super Mario World works in general, and I do know a lot about Lunar Magic. I'm a romhack fanatic myself of course, I've played tons of hacks (not very good at them though). Either way, enough rambling, I got things to showcase!

I decided to work on custom music and the title screen first. For the title screen, it is done. Here's what it looks like:

Any feedback would be really appreciated. However, if you're about to give me feedback over the super-corrupted looking yellow and blue pixels in the middle of the screen, that is actually a glitch, and I don't know how to fix it. Please give me some insight into the issue if you can so I can fix it.

As for the custom music, I successfully imported it, with an issue. The sound effects now sound really wierd. If you would like to check my progress on that, I opened a forum for that issue here: https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=viewthread&pid=1608727
Any help solving this problem is greatly appreciated. That's all for now, I will update as much as I can. See you all soon!

Hi again! I decided to start working on actual levels, and I thought, let's start simple...with Switch Palaces! So here's the Yellow Switch Palace:

How does it look? I know it's rather basic. And yes...I will be adding extra details in the future, I just wanted to get the level design out of the way. Really simple, all you have to do here is a P-jump. That's it.

Tell me what you think, feedback is really appreciated. Thanks! #smrpg{y}

Thank you so much! It works really well, as soon as I patched it all of the sound effects went back to normal. Thanks again!

A quick update: The sound effect problem has been fixed! Thanks to Ahrion and KungFuFurby for all the help! I will now be starting work on the levels of World 1. In the meantime, if anyone can help me solve that title screen glitch, please give me a suggestion, it would be greatly appreciated.

The song I wish to request is "Dance Of Cookies" from Yoshi's Cookie.

If you could keep the original sampling for the song from Yoshi's Cookie itself, that would be great.

I don't know if this goes outside the ability of the game, but if it would be possible to make a shop that would be great. The shop that I want would replace the Top Secret Area, and you would be able to go into this shop and spend Dragon Coins to activate special triggers in other levels, usually to access secret exits. You could also use it to buy a power-up. This would work accompanying the other dragon coin patches and ASM that keeps track of collected dragon coins. Thanks!

Thanks a lot!

Hey everybody! I wanted to show off the looks of another level. Just the intro, but new background and foreground graphics as well. Take a look:

So how does it look? Tell what you think. Thanks, and stay tuned. #smrpg{cool}

Thanks for the feedback! I had a feeling the switch palace might be too simplistic, definitly gonna add more of a gimmick to that. And the other level is gonna be a fast autoscroll level all about timing your jumps. That was the first time I've imported graphics, and it actually ended up taking a long enough time I wasn't able to work on much of the level, so next will probably be some full level clips.

Power-ups bounce off of other sprites
UberASM for sprites

Allows power-ups (such as mushrooms) to be affected by sprites when touching them. For example, the mushroom bounces and goes in the opposite direction when touching an enemy.

If any other details are neccessary, let me know.

The more characters, the better! Great job!

I swear I did this before this Mario Party thing started!

So, I decided to try out making SMW music, and I actually had a couple different ideas, but this is the one I came out with. You can check it out here. Tell me what you think, I need to know what I should change in the future.

I don't know any of the others but Mario.exe, those are hilarious to watch people react to. Not scary to me though.

Really well decorated, and a wide variety of enemies.

Tourist tips...I think I like that better than Point of Advice. Really good work!

Wow, really, really good job! Here are my thoughts:

Salvo the slime: It's perfect, and I love it! Great job porting Super FX emulation.
DKC2 3D Background Scrolling: Nice backgrounds, HDMA is definitly a hugely useful feature.
ExGFX Revolution: The more, the merrier!
The dissasembly's: Super Punch Out was a pretty fun game, never liked the NES one, but the SNES one was okay. I heard that Forest of Illusion preserved that (it's the Aging Cartridge, right?), never expected a dissassembly for that, so great job!
Mario 's & Yoshi's Strange Quests: I absolutely loved the first 2 games, can't wait for this one!

Keep up the good work! #smw{:TUP:}

This is really cute and simple! I don't really have any feedback because it seems to accomplish exactly what it's meant to do. And there's something to be said about not biting off more than you can chew for a first port.
