Tip: If you place too many sprites on the same screen, it will slow the game down. You can use the SA-1 Pack to reduce this slowdown, allowing more sprites on screen if required.

Before 0:58, what is the name of the music playing of the first half of Star World 4?

On Pixel Art Requests: I generally do not accept work unless I either have the time, if I see your project worth my time to contribute towards, and that is usually me doing the approaching to you on that.
-I also do not accept speculative work as I do have various art I made on-hand with me.
-I am more receptive to equivalent exchange of resources in which case, you can DM me wherever I have an active presence on for the details.
-Other times I'm availible for your project is C3 request threads I may run.

I swear, but only when I am getting fustraighted at someone or something. Normally, I do not swear in front of sensitive people such as parents, authority figures, and some more morally uprighteous peers (who I think they should just excuse it rather than scold me for it when they themselves are hipocritical and that kids around me swear using some of the most derogatory words without ramification) unless they slight me with what they do or say.

When it comes to using bad words that have a double-meaning or have many meanings, I would use it in which meaning applies to it in the situation.

I find exact ports with nothing extra or standoutish in them to be filler and a waste of time. Besides, Pac tried, and failed to remake SMB3 into SMW. However, making a hack or fangame basing off the idea of SMB3, or a reimaging of the original game is more productive than just a simple remake.

Most of these copyright claims come from phony companies and spambots whom falsely accuse the uploader for something in the video that they falsely own. Of course, legitimate claims do come up, but its moreso on more well-known videos that arent specializing in playthroughs but instead uploading recordings of tv shows and movies that were broadcasted on TV for profit. Same can be said about music videos. I have yet to get any strikes as of yet, but several copyright notices. I just dispute them because I do not make any money off of the videos nor that I upload any infringing content. Its better to dispute the claim than to acknowledge it most of the time.

Mysterious Islandz is a game that I am currently working on for the last year or so in Game Maker 8, using a previous engine made by CatzeeY aka, DeeY before DragezeeY Engine 7, its called FDE Exi. I wanted to make this game to not be your typical Mario fangame, as I was inspired by the level design seen in ROM hacks of SMB, SMB3 and SMW, and as such, tailored my level design to be quite a bit harder than your typical Mario game, but rather, the difficulty of hard hacks you may have played before, either on here, ROMHacking.NET, acmlm, and some of the Japanese SMB and SMW websites and their data respiratories out there.

There is a plot for this game, but I am not going into any detail yet because it is too early in its development to be made just yet.

I plan to have 9 worlds for this game. This demo is only 1 world done.

Here are some screenshots:

Some things you need to be aware of.
-The Level design will be adjusted to be more fairer upon completion and certain parts will have to be redesigned entirely because I didn't like the way it was designed 1 year ago.
-SPCs are the music files used to keep the overall file size manageable.
-The physics and collision detection system will be adjusted later on.

If you have any bugs to report, and or suggestions on how to improve this game, let me know. I will respond to your comments when I get the chance to.

Man, I like the parallax effect seen in the three levels you showcased in your video, as well as the graphics you made. It sure as hell added to the charm to your hack.

One thing, the backgrounds appear to be realisticly drawn in mind, which I believe, it contrasts to the cartoonish tilesets and sprites that I saw in your video. Nevertheless, I hope to see more of this in the future.

You have some nice custom graphics shown based on the screenshots.

I would recommend two things:

1. As the others said, darken the palette of the Pyramid level even though the distinction between BG and FG is clear.

2. The pipes in the overworld appear rather flat, maybe you can make them in a top-down perspective?

Nope. What's that?

More screenshots cuz why not

We've seen these before.

But in this part there is a Bat (Not Swooper Bat, a regular bat) that lies in trees which aren't drawn yet.

These Eeries move in a wavy motion.

A Boo blocks the path. Easy to get past though.

Another one?

And another Bat and a tree. The tree part which are the platforms are gonna be branches which you can stand on.

I'm gonna need to work more on my hack.

I take it that the green squares are placeholders?

BTW, its quite nice seeing a SMW hack that features user-made graphics on the creator's part. The dark colors used is quite fitting for a hack that takes a darker approach to the Mario series.

As for the graphics themselves, the dirt tileset is well made, but there could be more patterns than just the small rocks in your grass tileset, which is standoutish and eye-popping, and seeing the monotomy of the pattern, its a possibility that it can be quite repetitive.

Its not much of an excuse to say this although I would agree to this only if someone contributed their graphics exclusively to another's work, because the tileset in question here (NSMB-inspired tileset by BMSaints), was released and hosted on MFGG for public use as long as credit is given. Which means, you can edit the tilset with impunity as long as you do not claim the modified work as your own and be giving the aforementioned credit.

Well, with Hunter's Revenge 2 Recharged (but not exactly the original or a remake of Hunter's Revenge 2 back in 2008) completed, and very little left to do, SCORPION and I have decided to do another TEAM hack this year. So far, all the work has been by me because S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N. is getting Fourth Sector ready to submit to the central as we speak while I go ahead and get this project started. To celebrate, but not really, I post screenshots!

Would you be surprised if I told you we never use one of our previous hacks for a base?

Wow, quite the screens you got there. I like how the background seen reminds me of the graphical style seen in SMW2: YI. Did you draw such a good-looking background?

good stuff but the palette for the background looks a little bright how about making it slightly darker light green

I think it looks fine as it is. Any darker and I imagine it would look rather eye-searing.

Good work, Gamma V!

I beg to differ on this one as well. The yellow green sure as hell is very bright with little contrast. I recommet having more of a constrast between the light and dark parts and using a darker luminosity, let alone keeping the vibrancy which I believe, Gamma V is aiming for with her palette choice.

Gamma V, Ive watched your videos showcasing few levels from this hack, and judging by it, has a challenge reminiscennt of Nintendo's designs in their works pertaining to Mario platformers.

I couldn't agree more.

Im almost certain that killjoys you have encountered and discussing is synonymous with what you hate, honestly, if you didn't figure it out already.

Now then, my personal killjoys when it comes to playing SMW hacks are: Unfitting music, flat, uninteresting level design, levels that blithely passed off by the creators that really is unfair level designed as challenging that with enough skill a player can overcome which needs to be criticized, to name a few.

S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N... I have to ask if your "Ravaged Desert" screenshots, especially the background are based off a desert background you made for the original version of Mario: The Blackhole and used in SCORPION's Ravage, because its looking quite nice that you gave the background the illusion of multiple suns?

As for GloriousWater's screenshot, quite decent with the palette and layout, but I wonder will the level make use of more graphics from the castle levels of SMW?
