Decided to relay my thoughts here.

1-1 and 1-2, I have virtually no problems since they were designed to acclimate the player into the game and introduces new obstacles non-lethally.

1-3 is also a decent level, but I would like it more with the camera settings adjusted so that I don't have to run for it to vertically scroll...which can lead to unfortunate situations. Id also raise the timer by 100 seconds because I was close to dying near the end.

The Ruins level, I didn't necessarily have fun in it because it uses the tropes often seen in Ghost House levels which was rather uninituive because I don't associate ruins with confusing pathways... abandoned housing or darker places that have ghosts I would, however.

Glitches:

Aside from what Luks posted and what I said about 1-3's scrolling and timer, I found these interesting: http://postimg.org/gallery/13nmfc52o/

Closing thoughts: I await to see more of what you have as it looks promising and plays to be promising.

I just find the whole situation to be very appalling. My heart goes out to the people who had to suffer such an injustice.

And my thoughts on those who are blaming the attacks on the ongoing refugee crisis: Victim blaming is extremely tasteless and quite frankly its not helping matters at all (looking at you, Ben Carson!) when it comes to dealing with the religion of Islam. Its also a cynical application of the correlation implies a causation fallacy. And despite my own criticisms of the Islamic faith and setting it aside for a moment, I do believe that we need to be able to not link tragedies with refugees and those who support Western values and who do want to have a better life for themselves which unfortunately, Islamophobes sorely missed with their rhetoric of blind hatred. This Op-Ed excellently deals with the issue regarding said association: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/europes-refugee-crisis-swells-into-an-emergency/2015/11/13/c826774a-8a0b-11e5-be39-0034bb576eee_story.html

Looks like the tutorial is showing you through visual guides rather than a Message Box expositioning information. I like and I think it should be kept, though I do wonder about the things showcased: Will they be frequently recurring in the hack? If so, then make no changes.

Change the damn lava in your background. The cave formation is fine but the lava is not because it flows too much like water from what im seeing. Lava does not flow so porously...so freely that (as that would be reserved for water). A fix would be to make the lava more static but have it "bubble" in places: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGn7zfRFUEc

Something like that is what I mean.

I have no complaints on the tileset though.

Im not exactly fond of the way the white ground of the Snow World's above-ground level backgrounds cuts off like that. I just don't really see the depth conveyed at all since neither the trees nor the mountains in the previous levels of that world you showed were made to connect with the base ground...

Shoddy playing of you in the .gif aside... tat boo positioned near where you got the P-Switch should be changed to a normal Boo because reaction time alone you aren't giving enough of.

For a level that supposedly is supposed to look misty, I don't think you nailed down the atmosphere quite yet. Why not desaturate and darken the colors of the hills and white clouds in the sky and void below the hills as well as having some patches of clouds in the fg to obscure the player a little bit?

Still not much to show, but I've got this overworld for Fate's Turnaround. I've still got a long way to go to finishing it, but here's the incomplete version.

http://bin.smwcentral.net/u/11919/Fate%2527s%2BTurnaround%2BOverworld%2B1.png

Worlds 1, 2, 3, and 6 are on this map. The rest are in their own submap.

Any comments on how it looks so far?

Its not a bad overworld map but the cutoff on the shores, the brown cliff corners and that certain cliff tile at the right of the desert not graphically matching what you sprited needs to be fixed. I also wonder about how you are going to handle that divide in the middle to not come off as having an odd perspective?

So finally, I get around to making an actual winter level, in the spirit of the usual elements of the winter season (snow, cold wind).

The wind blows the player to the right, so it's also a matter of controlling your jumps and movement to dodge the many sparkys and firebars. Difficulty picks up a bit. There are quite a few ways to go about beating the level, such as using the exploding Bob-ombs to your advantage. Just keep in mind no sprite passes through the red outlines.

Now it's winter! (Dec 26, 2015)

EDIT:
Just finished another level (Dec 27, 2015, 4:50 PM), except I have to wait 24 hours before I can double post, or someone else needs to reply.
I think something may be wrong with me because I'm building levels faster than I can post them.

That obnoxious fog man. I wouldn't really enjoy playing a level that has that and wind breeze going against the player when you have enemy placement placed in ways that is there to get a cheap shot at you when you have the other two hinderances to mind about.

Though I do like the colors you used.

This one looks much more creative (not saying its fun as creativity =! fun) to play than the last level shown. I have seen this idea a few times in your hacks but I am thinking that this one appears to be more polished and hopefully less frustrating and more fun to play.

Nice level though Id suggest getting rid of the Lil'sparkies at the beginning as its not a safe introduction to the gimmick and also the arenas with the boo trails in the first quarter of the level should have its blocks be under "3" before going with a more gradual difficulty climb rather than things be hard on the onset.

Before, I used to use ZSNES for pretty much every SMW hack. Now, I would only use it for older hacks before 2012, hacks still in the waiting to be moderated section, and Japanese SMW hacks.

Hacks that are officially hosted here (2013-onwards), I use ZMZ.

Well give me and Roberto a break. We're still waiting for the levels if Gamma V has done. We're sure she will send screenshots of them.

Except, its totally deserving that other people have to say what he just said to you two because of yours (and debatably, Roberto's) posting history which quite frankly, is fucking annoying and inconsiderate of what is going on with their own lives.

As for the autoscroller, I have no complaints about its design.

Another level with a novel idea, though I would probably extend the timer up 300 seconds more at a minimum because from what I saw of that gaffe in the second part would mean little room for error.

I have seen your works on the forums and you are indeed a talented pixel artist and storywriter. I'm going to give a demo a try and post my thoughts on it later...since I'm tired right now.

Hi, I'm Luansilva12. I'm making a new hack. It's called...
SUPER MARIO WORLD MIX!
The purpose of this hack is to play through stages of older and some of the newer Mario games. Sorry if this is against the rules.

Already this does not look promising to me by that statement and the screenshots shown. One can simply either purchase the games or obtain the ROMs to just play the stages. I suggest you repurpose your hack into making more original levels but as its customary to remix, you can take some artistic liberties with having your levels reference segments and gimmicks featured in the original Mario games. Hope what I said helps.

*Looking at those game over screens* I dont hate your projects man. Im just saying that its not showing a lot of promise and I have offered you useful feedback which you are blatantly ignoring right now with your childish display of a response, holy fucking shit. Learn to divorce yourself from your work and learn to stop taking any negative comments you get as a personal attack.

I like how The Crater's Boiler Room graphics are getting a modernized upgrade for another purposes, though having two lava surfaces on the layer 2 bg strikes me as an odd choice along with the lighting source on the front rock wall (well, more specifically, how the top-left of the rock is shaded as darkest even though I get that its supposed to have light coming upwards from lava.).

EDIT: Retracted part of the statement. Turns out that the choice is perfect on the rocks. What I will have a suggestion is having rocky spires stick out on the lava to make the liquid base be less "empty".

The cognitive dissonance is astounding here.

Now then, reproduction carts are inherently illegal because they run afoul of copyright laws and conventions and that repro carts are unethical because of its use going beyond copyright infringement into selling warez (piracy). Its a bit hypocritical to draw moral/ethical lines on that just because of the effect of the market may not be as bad as it is in another when you are making x amount of copies of games you own and passing it off as either repro or authentic... they are still unquestionably illegal.

While we are at it, can we stop using the word "repro" because its a very inaccurate word to desecribe the specific aftermarket goods we are discussing? Reproduction by nature is to reproduce an original work and its illegal for anyone else but the copyright holders to do.
