MSG sounds pretty fun. And I'll try earthbound. Thanks for trying to help me. But remember, please don't recommend Mario/Zelda/Kirby games as I've pretty much played them all.
Just so you know, these are the systems I can play from:
NES
Genisis
SNES
N64
GB
GBC
GBA
GCN
DSi
Wii
And I think that's it. I think I'm going to try Yoshi's story and Earthbound for a bit.Your layout has been removed.
It could always be a problem with the code...
EDIT: Never noticed the example code. Plus I got beat by like, 02 seconds.Your layout has been removed.
Question. I know when you insert an object manually, there's an "Extra Info" box. So would it be possible to make blocks use the extra bit?Your layout has been removed.
Wow, they even brought back the POW block from SMB2. I have o say that this game is probably going o be one of the best games of 2009/2010. I'm really happy they raised the difficulty level. No more beating Mario games in 1 hour! (Or in SMW's case, 20 minutes). While I'm happy they brought back the kooplings, I just hope they're all unique batles, not just 1 of them.Your layout has been removed.
Try taking everything (Exept the bannerbomb files) off the SD card. If it still freezes, than it means that you'll have to try a different file. Watch this tutorial for more help.Your layout has been removed.
OK, I need some help. I've decided to do a speedrun of Ocarina of Time (OoT), and when I try to escape the forest with only a sword I kepp messing up. This is what I'm trying to do:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/r7mr6mHKI4A&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/r7mr6mHKI4A&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
And what happens to me is:
a) I don't get the angle right
b) I hit the wall and go flying backwards but Link just stops moving a second after.
If it makes a differnce, I'm using the collector's eddition one.Your layout has been removed.
Glad to see this is finally out. It helped me a TON, and should help others. I vote sticky.Your layout has been removed.

I have a few questions about custom music:
1. What is the name of the language used to program custom music? I know you use ASM for sprites/blocks, but what is the music language called?
2. How do you add voices into custom music? I know you can, as in a Japanese hack Mario makes the sounds he makes in Super Mario 64 when he jumps. He also had a song that had the words for it.
3. Does anyone know of a tool that you can open a midi file or wave file with that automaticly converts it to a txt file with the custom music written up in it? Or at least a tool that helps convert?
Thanks to those who can answer.Your layout has been removed.
OK, thanks a bunch ShoutingRyan! This will be useful. Also, new question:
How do you create an SPC file? Do you just add an extension?Your layout has been removed.
OK, I've got all the answers. Just a few more: I started porting and I'm doing good so far put where do I put the header (#0 wx tx) and channel designation lines (#x @x q7f vx yx)
Also, when fixing channels, do I put them in a certain order? Like go 0-7, than back to zero and start again?Your layout has been removed.
You could apply the no sprite tile limits patch. Just remember to back up your ROM and set memory to 10.Your layout has been removed.
Keyboard. I've actually been using a keyboard so much that I'm better with it than with a controller. I only have problems when I need to press 3 or more buttons.Your layout has been removed.

What use is a sticky in a small tutorial forum? It's not going to be buried too deep, probably even in a year.
hmm, it looks like you never put the JSR SUB_OFF_SCREEN_X0 in the first sample, despite explaining it.
Well, just in case we get a bunch.Your layout has been removed.
I meant would the channels go in an order like this:
First channel is #0, second is #1, third is #2, and after #7 you go back to #0. I'm trying to port Guerdo Vally from Ocarina of Time.Your layout has been removed.
(restricted)
I've tried asking people on Youtube, but that doesn't help. I know you can do them on consoles though, as I've seen it before.Your layout has been removed.
What do I do if there are more than 8 channels? It says there are 11, but in the tutorial it says I can only go from 0-7 and use each of them once.Your layout has been removed.
