He is the mustard of your doom. (size issue)

Cool remake of the first level of smb1.

Also, we don't have to comment on a video to show that we've watched it.
Decided that since sprite appearance has been the most thought-out part of my hack so far (emphasis on thought) I'm going to show the enemies that I create while building my levels. Here's a turtle that I drew for an island level:

Feedback? Improvements?
@Blue_Raven: Thx!

@Tox Box: Yes, I did have to resort to covering most of the hitbox. If that wasn't the reason, I would've made a shell-less version too.

@Ramp202: Sweet Banzai Bill there! Can't wait to see the size of the cannon that thing's comin' out of.

@Kristian: Thanks!

@1UPdudes: Ya, I did this free-hand on a gridpad, so I didn't really realize until now. I see your point though.

Starting on my forest level now, and plan to work on an evergreen for an enemy.
@Blue_Raven: Nice! I have to agree, it does contrast with the background, but maybe you could match it with a rocky background or more of a 3D-style clouding.

Finished that evergreen I was working on. I'm going to use it as a generic enemy in the level, my only fear being if it will contrast with the background or not...

...but It's a tree, so I guess you could expect that. I also stumbled upon an old common enemy in one of my failed hacks and revamped it. Anyone wanna take a guess to what it's supposed to be?

EDIT: its a similarity to a mole
First time I've seen wario as a character in a hack. Of course, this may be because I've been gone for a long while.
(not sure this has anything to do with hacking, but)
I never knew that FR/LG had so many issues. Kinda makes me wanna jump on the emulator and play the game again.
Sweet! The size clipping info is useful, and the boss is a great example of this. (now to discover how to expand the hitbox...)
This definitely brings me back to the good ol' days of gaming on Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3. I can see a variety of situations this could prove useful. The japanese language is a nice touch too (although, I don't expect a translation option).
Sweet tileset! I assume it was colored without altering the palette, given the shade, but it looks cool how you took advantage of the different shades of tan to prioritize objects.
Sweet player graphics! I've always found it hard to draw people.
you might not have world 1 done, but that semi-vanilla hack looks like a project that should see completion. does it have a storyline to it?
The brown animal thing was a mole, and in the failed hack had many versions (koopas shelled & unshelled, bob-omb & goomba, normal, parachute & bubble, wiggler, bullet bill, ect.) but I only decided to revamp the origional.
With C3 going on, progress and attention span had been hindered. Here is an attempt at a bee:

This one took up an entire row on the level palette and had many breaks in between its creation. I think it might work best acting as a Bronto Burt from Kirby's Adventure and Kaijyuu's kirby sprite pack. Comments? Improvements?
@1UPdudes: Cool background. Gives you that "near the coast" kind of feel
@Uhrix: That is a great idea! I never knew nor seen someone use overworld graphics as direct scenery in a level. Would look awesome in a hack
@Masashi27: *.* yeah, I gotta go pester my mom for a sec, be back...
@Pikachutoastie: erm...

I've finished the last enemy in my forest level. Now that this is done, I'm gonna move on to creating enemies for a different part of world 2.

It's a rabbit. I looked at a real pic of one and made the colors for it. I'm going to intend it to act like a ninji, but I think there's a custom sprite that would fit in so much better.
I was curious, does SMWCentral have a written-down birthdate? If so, do we or will we ever take a day to celebrate it?
I feel as if we have barely to none hacks that have a separation from the mario-peach-bowser loop. I'd be glad to see evidence against such a fact. (Although I'm not saying that mario-peach-bowser storied hacks are bad)
Although the banner degign on 11 is absolutely fantastic, #2 gets my vote due to having more relation to the project, one of the main intentions of the banner (I assume).
good god it hurts
Are we allowed to use more map16 than the two pages for the foreground and the two pages for the background let alone edit map16 at all?
