The bug only occurs on bsnes/higan anyway, and it's nothing that actually breaks the game, so... yeah.

Just in case you don't know what I mean:

Have a screenshot.

Alas, I have another bug report.

In bsnes/higan, the small stars Mystia and Marisa shoot are shot horizontally, whereas in Snes9X, they're shot at an diagonal angle. I'm guessing the latter is the intended behaviour.

Well, I've always put icons on the left and right ever since I put the emulator shortcuts inside a separate folder and some more shortcuts under "Other" (greatly reduces clutter, since I have over 20 emulator shortcuts in the "Emulators" folder alone). On that note, it shouldn't be a surprise why I always post wallpapers depicting Youmu and/or Yuyuko. (sorry for the late reply, by the way)

Anyway: No, I still haven't forgotten to change my desktop background.

Oh boy, a game of which I have the GB version. It's a game where you have to set a high score. My goal is to beat the top default score when you boot it up, I guess:

100000 points. This is going to be fun.

Qix is still as fun as it is....though I've had pretty "how the hell did I clear that level" clears happen. For example:

Pretty sure I should've died in both cases, especially in the first one. Also, its title theme sounds pretty awesome. Anyway, on one attempt, I got 91853 points. I guess the trick is to exceed the threshold by at least 15% (like in the second screenshot).

Managed to get over 100000 points in Qix.

Final score:

I swear, I got really lucky in the former screenshot.

Anyway, SNES game:

Merit Studios made the port, and Ocean published it, it seems. Anyway, it's a top-down racing game. Let's see how well this goes.

EDIT: So this game has a Head-To-Head mode and a Challenge Mode. I think I'll go with the latter.

Also, this game has no continues.

I give up on Micro Machines, because of this track:

It has dickishly placed dunes, which act as bumps, such as this one:

Combined with controlling a vehicle which has one of the worst grips in the game and the game having no continues... you get the idea.

Back to NES, I guess.

A Zapper game. OK then.

This is the farthest I got in Operation Wolf. I did not beat the game on this attempt. You only get 2 (or 3) attempts to beat the 6 missions the game has. You refill your health halfway through and refill your ammo after Mission 4. Mission 5 introduces prisoners you have to save. Fail to save at least 1 prisoner: Game over.

The graphics are pretty passable, though they don't look all that great:

(screenshot shows Mission 2)

Now for the gameplay. Holy crap, the aiming is pretty terrible, especially when it comes to shooting the powerups (and that's especially noticeable if you have no ammo left).

So....yeah, I give up.

Next NES game:

Stupidest control scheme ever. Basically, you can't hit Left or Right (the game does so), only Up and Down. A accelerates the troll, Select is the "give up" button. You can only hit jewels that are the same as your current colour (there are coloured pots in each stage). Anyway, next NES game:

Oh hey, a game I'm familiar with and that I really like. Furthermore, I've beaten the game before, so....yeah.

Sorry for double posting, but as expected, I completed Kirby's Adventure:

Time to roll an SNES game now:

Made by the same people who made the infamous Superman 64. The game has 2 difficulty settings: Easy and Normal. I'm going to be playing on Normal. Also, instead of "Español" in the language settings, "Inglés" is written, which is Spanish for "English". By the looks of it, it seems to be a platformer.

A few days ago, I uploaded Volume 6 of Touhou - Dodging like a boss.

Video available here.

However, as real life (sort of) got in the way, this is the final volume I'm going to make. Someone else has taken over.

Most of the native French-speaking Canadians live in the province of Québec, I believe.

Et puis, les Québécois ont leur propre patois que nous francophones européens ont du mal à comprendre ! (no really, I really like the Quebecker accent, but when it comes to informal speech in Quebec French...) (more info on what I'm talking about)

...Anyway, I write/speak British English, because that's what I've been taught in school.

The storm also hit Luxembourg, though it's much weaker around here (gusts up to around 80 km/h expected). In comparison, Scotland had gusts up to 228 km/h, according to this BBC News article. I don't really dread the storm, though, since my ride to work is fairly short (~20 minute train ride + 8-ish minutes walking). However, snow (or rather, sleet) has been forecast for tomorrow, in addition to the storm. This is something I'm not really looking forward to, to be honest.

As it turns out, there was no sleet or snow today. Just some wind gusts up to around 80 km/h. In fact, there's little to no damage caused by the storm over here, because its centre is way further to the north(-east?) right now. So far, the storm killed 9 people, according to reports.

Anyway, glad to see both of you are OK, WYE and Ersanio.

Basically what the above posters said. In addition, the level name translates to "Level for IDIOT(S)".

The intro message roughly translates to: "Welcome to the worst of the hacks you should've never taken this hack well suffer well forever! Don't take into account the insult!"

The first message box in the level translates to: "Bad day idiot! The water is solid or liquid you need a positive cooked [sic] to know but idiots like you don't know!"

The message box at the end of the level translates to: "here you go youlost your time playing this game haha! You is strong your cooked [re-sic] and at least 1! Wel, alright, I wish you the worst in the world!"

By the way, even the filename of the IPS patch is not advertising what it actually is. It translates to "Best hack in the world!".

For the record, "cooked" in French means "cuit". "cuit" is pronounced like QI (quotient intellectuel), which is the French acronym for IQ (intellectual quotient).

By the way, you can't finish the level proper.

Therefore, the hack should be rejected. The hack basically insults the player.

NOTE: The translations have mistakes on purpose, since I translated the content of the messages, which was full of rather terrible French (e.g. poor spelling, grammar mistakes).

46F (7.8C) is too warm for early January, in my opinion. Matter of fact, we reached 10C this week.

Seriously, the weather we're currently having feels more like mid-autumn.

On another note, you currently live less than 100 km away from me, which is....something.

Just finished playing this hack, and while it has decent level design, the difficulty is too high for World 1, in my opinion. As with most others, I feel that Sky Garden was way too long, especially for the very first regular level in the hack.

The overworld music has a tendency to glitch out a tiny bit on accurate emulators. That's fairly minor, though, since it doesn't completely break.

The hack in general also had some fairly dickish enemy/spike placements, for instance the first poison mushroom in the White Switch Palace.

In The Chillyshroom, I died to a spike, described by Nimono as a "piece of ground with a pointy top". That, to be honest, is a bit of a dick move. Spikes should be visually distinguishable from normal ground.

The Thwomps in Triangle Fortress pretty much appear out of nowhere, killing you if you're not aware they're behind barrels. The boss of that particular stage was also a bit frustrating to beat.

Now for some minor nitpicks: The overworld text is a bit difficult to read, in my opinion (black on dark blue). There were a few errors in the message boxes, though they're still readable. The boss background music doesn't really fit, in my opinion (Bloody Tears wasn't a boss BGM in the original game (Castlevania II: Simon's Quest)).

All in all, the hack has some decent level design, but as I said before, it's too difficult for World 1, especially considering the scarcity of the powerups (I don't recall ever getting a Fire Flower). Like most others, I really liked the effect in The Chillyshroom. Therefore, I give this hack a weak accept. When I say "weak", it's mostly because of the difficulty this early in the hack.

I'll have to go with Normal, but leaning towards Hard. Some levels just feel too difficult for World 1 for me.

By the way, the hack has a Hard Mode in the mode select screen.
