Here's what I do:

1. Download Lunar IPS, and save it.
2. Download a hack from this site, and make sure you have it always open with Lunar IPS.
3. Copy your SMW ROM into a new folder under ZSNES/SMW Hacks/*HACKNAME*
4. Patch it and play.

I don't have to bother renaming the ROM, because it's in a folder that's named.

I decided that everybody's random names were cooler than mine, so I decided to take a completely random phrase or thing and make it a name. Blue Ooze was my first guess, but no, that was corny. Somehow, Farm Fresh came to my mind (labeled on eggs and whatnot, you'll get a ton of hits on Google from things like that) and I liked it, so I started using it. Everywhere. Surprisingly it's taken in quite a few places.

Eeeewww. Coconuts...

Well, good job getting down more than 5 sips, in my opinion. You are a stronger person than I.

The doctors who worked on him said it was astounding that it didn't cut any further. Just an inch or less and he'd have bled out.

Play went on for a good 15 seconds before anyone realized it, and to say this is another reason "professional sports sucks" is pointless. You can do a lot worse to yourself falling down the stairs, and it's a lot more likely.

I think it was very mature to give the content warning: some people pass out at the sight of any blood.

I declare this username epic win.

That's what you do for fun? You are more constructive than I.

212. What's obvious to you might not be to the player. Always have hints for puzzles.

And, in the same vein as the above:

213. Don't make random POW doors that make the player guess where to use the POW. Always leave at least a subtle hint, and don't make the doors absolutely necessary: if they lose the POW and there's no way out, they're stuck.

214. Check for glitched graphics in all frames of an object or sprite (ie, the ON/OFF block changing, etc...)

215. It's best to have some kind of balance between power-ups, instead of all Flowers/Capes/etc...

216. Having areas that chug because of the amount of sprites is never okay.

217. Make original Ghost House puzzles, instead of just the same area over and over in different doors.

218. Don't make Mario die after cutting the goal tape. (Even though that's hilarious to use on your friends.)

219. Do NOT</u></i> make the player jump on Bullet Bills that they can't readily see. ALWAYS have a way around.

220. Make your message boxes original: nobody likes reading things like "hit the tape and you get stars. Get 100 for a bonus game." or "when you touch this bar, you will start here if you die."

221. For the love of all things good and green, don't make the switch palace mandatory for clearing the game.

222. See the above.

223. For the love of crap, please, see the above.

224. Don't make your secrets exits ludicrously hard to find. Always have a hint somehow.

225. 3-Up Moons just aren't that cool.

226. Be careful how you place 1-Ups and certain power-ups: the player can always START+SELECT out of a level once they get one, and it'll still be in the level next time. (Unless you turned START+SELECT off.)

227. Vanilla SMW graphics can be used to greater effect if you make fitting, original palettes.

228. Chances are: you aren't as clever as you think: always have somebody else test your levels.

229. Always remember: Windows could crash at any moment. Save your work.

230. It's okay to have familiar things, like a half-pyramid of blocks over a jump, but don't over-do it: make your own reoccurring pattern or object.

(Okay, I'm done now.)

I'm not sure what you mean with that last sentence.

The biggest killer of layouts seems to be being too hard to read. Make a lot of contrast, like Taco_Man's dark green with white text.

To avoid further flaming, here's the easy way out until you can tweak the layout to be more readable: pick a simpler background. Take a look at mine. It's totally white. If somebody has to highlight your post to read it, that's a problem. Pick a very simple color and make your text a color that contrasts it.

Use of modchips is illegal if you are going to download games without having the originals. I just want to unlock the region protection, to play US and japanese games on my Wii, I don't want to pirate. And since there is no freeloader for the Wii, the only way is the modchip.

We aren't talking about downloading games either.
All the use of Modchips is illegal.
If you use it, you have to change or remove some parts, so the Wii will not work normally, so you have chances the Wii will brick, or even it will be so hot, it can explode.
And if you update your firmware, it can brick aswell.

It's going to overheat and go poof before it explodes. You might get a "flash ignition," but I don't think flying Wii shrapnel would be a problem. (That said, that'd be really fun to watch, megas.)

They are right, though. It's not legal to do fiddling like that with it, or reverse engineer it, blah blah blah.

My opinions on this:

I'd like to see it without any assists, since I know for a fact those things aren't that easy to do.

I think I audibly said "Bull crap" a few times, especially when he somehow warped down to the basement door. To my knowledge, that's just not how the game's physics work, allowing instant teleportation to any place at will. I'd have to see more convincing evidence, like an off-screen camera or something. I'm just not buying it, but I've been wrong before.

Time to go outside! 16 Stars or whatever the old record was is okay, and I've done it, but 0 totally ruins the whole game.

It didn't happen in the US either; it happened in space.

Yes, I foresee a long hiatus for a lot of us after Brawl is released.

Your hack has won me over: no small feat. I really like everything you've shown, particularly the purple coins and whatnot. If I didn't want to mess up my layout, I'd have your support bar there, but for now, it's going in my bio.

People still care about classics, or else the Virtual Console wouldn't be selling like it is.

I grew up with the NES and games like SMB, Contra, Castlevania, Duck Hunt, Metroid, etc... then I skipped an era and went to N64 with Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, all the classics. Then I graduated to GCN, and...

All in all, the classic games are great, but you can like both. New games aren't "stupid," they're just not some people's styles.
