I'm trying my hand at drawing, and using, my own ExGFX. However! I've hit a snag. My ROM has stopped registering any changes Lunar Magic makes to it (despite said changes being saved and visible in Lunar Magic itself). So I had to pretty much port everything over to a new ROM. That's not the problem. This is:

(My ExGFX83)

As I'm copying my Map16 tiles from one version to another, I get this message on both sides:

And, having finished enough of the Map16 to test my ExGFX...

... I'm treated to an underwater level, where walk-through tiles are solid, and doors do not work.

My question is, how do I fix this?

I hope not. Anyway, that's not the title screen, but a test room for that ExGFX. Not sure how to check to see if it's courrupted or not #w{:<}

Thanks! That works! #w{:>}

Now I just have to rebuild the rest of that Map16 page, and then the other pages...

Oops! Look what I found out about while trying to prove to my brother that I can play the game save-state-less! (I still suck btw).

Also, spoiler:
Ninji Tower 2.0 (2-3) - The Ninjis, embarrassed at the original tower's design flaws, decided to take a different approach and build their tower downward...

Yes, I know there are things I need to fix (off-screen ground, wtf?), and some things not seen while testing. Don't worry, I'll get to them soon/have gotten them already... Except that part of World 1 that turns pink... I'll get to that eventually... maybe...

EDIT: Demo v1D (About 10 levels long) submitted.

EDIT 2: A sprite change not present in v1D.
(images removed due to the stretching of the space time jigawhat?)

Also some various other edits.

NOTE: Color palettes are approximate, as the clipboard used palette 0 for color, despite what palettes were selected in YY-CHR. Challenge: Guess what each thing replaces. ;P

I sincerely apologize for the double-post. I'll probably edit these two posts together later.

Anyhoo, v1E got accepted, so I guess I'll make a to-do list.
Problems noted by mod: (EDIT: Fixed somehow.)

Looks like I'll be here a while. On another note, I had to transfer my stuff to a new ROM due to changes not showing up in the ROM, despite being saved in Lunar Magic. So, yeah.

P.S. Rebuilding Map16 pages is *fun* [/sarcasm]

Depressed from losing "Yet again" to his brother, Sunwarrior25 merges his posts.

Space-Time EDIT: I'm edit happy and HOLY SHOOT that's a big post. Time to trim it down.

I haven't posted in this thread yet, have I? Either way, here's the first few screens of a level I'm doing:

And the first few screens of the level after that.

Neither of these will have vertical scrolling enabled.

The bridge is randomly under attack by the time Mario encounters it. The portion shown is when the attacking fighters finally notice Mario and try to force him off the bridge. Somehow, the enemies always do what they're paid to do whenever I play. Is it because I place enemies where villains would?

What video? Whatever are you talking about?

I wanted to use Clash on the Big Bridge (or whatever that song is called), but it wouldn't insert correctly. I guess it's okay since it would be too cliche. (Songs used: Overworld - Present Paradise (Red Chameleon), Bridge Rickety - FF Legends 2 - The Dreadful Fight (ported by Atma))

Oy, time to learn Layer 2 shenanigans to make World 2-Castle worthwhile...

Aw, if only I had been recording when I finally made it through the level! #w{:<}

EDIT: I think I'll try again, since I edited the ExGFX shortly after that video, and need to test anyways.

@E-Man: Yes, I found the theme here by searching searching the word 'bridge' in the Music section. Not the best way to find music, but whatever.

@S.N.N.: Thanks! It inserted correctly this time. Now all I need to do is make sure the songs I downloaded/inserted work correctly/don't crash.

How does using custom music work? I only ask because sometimes while testing, I'd be able to hear music at least once, then when I entered the next sublevel (or entered the level from the overworld), the music either worked, was quiet with sound effects, or was completely silent and crashed.

Also, do I have to group the tracks I want to use in the AddMusic.ini? (i.e. Earthbound tracks, followed by Pokemon tracks, followed by Yoshi's Island Tracks, etc.)

By the looks of things I won't be able to attend tomorrow due to the Spring Cleaning event, so here are some of the ExGFX I've been working on.

Brix, Beams, and Bulbs

This was on the site already, but I wanted to make it more useful, so I added steel girders and lightbulbs, reduced a few redundancies, and made the pillars have no outlines.

The spray paint on the bricks uses the berry colors, and the full/lit lightbulbs were made with palette row 6 in mind.

Forest/Jungle

I wanted to prove that I'm not great at just bricks, so I drew this. It's evolved a little, although I didn't know about tiles F9 - FF at the time, so I guess that's extra space if anyone needs it?

The flowers, as well as the paint on the sign, use the berry colors.
