BUT YOU WOULDN'T LISTEN! NOW WE HAVE WATERMELON ALL OVER THE PLACE!
no seriously though, what the heck IS Yoshi.
My understanding : a green frog dinosaur horse thing that somehow lays eggs even when they are duders.
another question: where did you get the stuff like that Yoshi is randomly Birdo's wife or something and like Luigi is apparently in some relationship with Daisy? seriously, what is up with that. one more thing : Mario PUNCHES the block. he dosn't hit it with his head.
so emm I was wondering how to change the title screen music. someone said I had to edit the hex. they gave me this as well

I know I have to do something like change a couple of numbers in the address to the number the title screen music is. but what. and is there an easier way with Carol's addmusic?
we're mostly teenagers with no lives. it shouldn't be expected for us to make well designed games. we should though. I always try to think from the mind of a player thats played smw a few times, and could beat it fairly easily. just wait until my hack is done, it won't be difficult like some games
What I usually do is save every screen or two depending on if the scrren was very detailed or took a while. when I get to the midpoint I test. if I can't get through a certain part, I fix it, save, and test again, then fix all issues, and repaeat with the second half. I usually can tell what kind of level I want to make. for instance, today I'm feeling like a nice castle level. the next day I might want to make a forest level.
I'm sure looking at some data in YI could help. I have been thinking, and yah, it would be pretty cool if mario could throw the eggs while yoshi eats and generates them. once your finished, people are problebly ganna want stuff like blocks.
Just use a tool called YY-CHR or exgfx to change character GFX. just be ready to explain why the character is killing goombas and suck and controls like mario if your using another character like sonic. as for music :
First off this is for Carol's addmusic. this one is good for beginners. first off, expand your rom by using Lunar expand, then download addmusic and a song. the song you get should be a TXT file. extract addmusic to the same folder as your rom. with addmusic, you will get a folder called music. delete everything in it and place your txt file inside. if you want the song to be overworld music, rename it 11-18 and levels 20 and up. then open addmusic.exe. it will ask for your rom name. (if you have the japanese version, just go along with this.) type in what your rom is called. E.X. Super Mario World (U) [!].smc.
finally go to lunar magic, go to the level you want the music on and click the noteblock. find the number you chose when renaiming on the dropdown, and your all set.
hope this fortress of text helped.
EDIT: friggin' Ninjis, I thought I killed you all.
Mode 7 is a special game mode used by consols like the snes and genesis used to create a psuedo 3d effect. it transforms and deforms an image. It's used in Mario world to rotate a layer (like reznor's sign and iggy's platform.
sample tool is a program that inserts different instruments into SMW so music sounds correct
so I used the sm64 patch which adds the sm64 health and it gives you a gfx28.bin file. I've tried replacing the original, leaving it in the hacks folder, but it eather messes up the graphics and pallet or the regular graphics mess it up.
