About Me
Hello! My current screen name is
Cape. I'm a novice SMW hacker that is still figuring out everything as I go along, so don't be surprised if you see me confused or asking questions. I hope to become an active and pleasant member of SMW Central. You are free to shoot me a PM if you would like to speak with me. I will respond to you as soon as I can.
I got into SMW hacking in late 2024 after years of trying to make a game with
Mario Builder. MB was a program made in GameMaker by a guy called TingThing. It was shut down in 2014 by Nintendo, most likely due to Mario Maker's at-the-time upcoming release. I tried making games with MB for years after its shutdown. I never succeeded though, and I briefly experimented with other Mario level editors / game makers like
Super Mario Bros. X or
Mario Editor before finally moving to SMW hacking.
I like levels that feel traditional, like Nintendo made them. But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy a challenging level. I don't really like playing Kaizo that often, mostly because I'm not very good at it. The only Kaizo I like is really easy. I am a fan of using obscure/gimmicky/underused ideas and mechanics in levels.
