Tip: Remaking levels from other Mario games is strongly discouraged, especially popular ones (World 1-1 from SMB or SMB3, for example), as their over-presence in Mario games, official or not, often makes them uninteresting to play.
This is a one world demo of my special hack that I've been working on for quite some time now.
It's also a fairly easy hack.
Hope you enjoy it. :)
(Note: Most of the graphics in the hack are custom, but I didn't make most of them, so I don't take credit for said graphics...) fixme: music breaks on accurate emulators.
Not bad. This hack may be short, but it was fun to go through.
The design is more or less good. It is linear, but levels are spicied enough to not be too monotone. The only complaint may be the flatness in terms of exits; there are, infact, no secret exits, and this makes the hack a tad too linear than how it should be already. Either way, it's good enough.
The aesthetics are nice most of the levels. Too bad for that last castle, since its GFX are redrawn-styled, while this hack aims for a SMW-like style. The blocks around the boss door also have a bad palette. Other than that, it's okay. I would've added more decoration elements in all the levels, since they feel a bit empty.
As only issue, music breaks on accurate emulators.
Overall, a decent hack. A good one if you're looking for a small demo to play.
