The design is kind of flat and weird. The former may be justified, since it's still a first world. The difficulty curve is kind of weird as well: surprised to see there are not too many powerups, and we're in the early game. Together with that, levels are harder, then they get easier... the difficultu curve here isn't well managed overall, and this penalized the design most.
Aesthetics are more or less decent. A nice attempt to make a different player than Mario I must say, even if some frames could've been worked better (mainly the small Kris). As for the levels, most of the stuff kept vanilla, with a few small edits. Here too, though, it could've been much better.
As only issue I found, which isn't even this big, the level "Kris' shipwreck" has a blank message box.
Overall, 2/5. Not awful, but, as stated many times, if the author put more work in this demo, it could've been better.
