Version 1.1 of my debut hack, SMW: Remix. This hack is relatively easy and aims to be about the same difficulty as the original Super Mario World.
Version 1.1 fixes a few issues with the IPS patch and fixes areas that were easily exploitable.
Mod Notice: Music breaks on snes9x for some reason. May require investigating due to unusual circumstance.
An okay hack for what it sets out to be, but it certainly could've done some things better.
Visually, this is a vanilla hack for the most part, with some minor graphical edits for the blocks and a few custom tiles. The music in this hack is also the default SMW fare, but for some reason the cave music breaks on snes9x. I have no idea why, but maybe someone could shed some light on this?
A few custom blocks are used, mostly in the last level of the hack for a puzzle stage, but also in the switch palaces.
The gameplay and level design was kind of a mixed bag. On one hand, this hack was definitely meant to be easy and it shows in the design, which isn't all that demanding in terms of the player's skill. Occasionally there are stages like the underground lake level with the scrolling water that are neat, but then there's something like the ghost house with its obnoxious use of the boo circles. Other than that it wasn't too memorable of a hack.
A decentish hack for players looking for something easy, but other than that you aren't missing much for passing this up.
