This hack doesn't play like a Mario level. Mario's coin-based health makes enemies on land an afterthought. Knockback from being damaged is what's more likely to kill you or falling down a pit with no walls to hug. Wall jump is your main form of level navigation. Some jumps will be tricky, as you have to use the wall to wait for a platform to swoop under you, you have to fit into tiny areas for extras, and you have to be careful to dodge bombs and stuff. Not all things are easy to get and this is the main drive for playing it thoroughly. The difficulty curve within the level is well-done.
It is a very active level and there's nothing uneventful about it, so in that sense, it's worth a run. It's a decent way to kill 5 minutes. However, this level is in the awkward position of being too gimmicky and all-out for a place in most full hacks, and too short to be really memorable on its own.
