Though short, there's something particularly memorable about this hack: not the levels, the palettes, the soundtrack... well maybe the soundtrack helps out, but the ending appeased my dark side and I burst into laughter with its triumphant fanfare. You never do find out what Mario was sick with in the first place. I also can't get over how weird it is to have text just floating around as part of the level. Everything is labeled. Even the title screen has floating text that draws more attention than the title itself.
The levels themselves don't feel like they've been tested completely. Mario looks strange walking through the walls in front of them, and not all Dragon Coins are obtainable, which kind of defeats the purpose of collecting the others in the otherwise cool fashion that you can. There's a fair mix of puzzle and platforming elements. The hack's not really boring.
Palettes are mostly passable, but some levels look bad (cave) and some enemies look bad (green shells.)
