I have mixed feelings about this hack, mainly the design. Sometimes levels are too flat; straight land with really poor sprite placement and obstacles. Some other times, it gets a bit better, like in the last level. From my point, this wasn't a very fun hack overall, but it's not awful either. Indeed, mixed feelings.
Aesthetics are mostly vanilla. There are some elements the author remade or slightly edited, like the note blocks, the goal sphere, and some others. A small complaint, some palettes look bad, like in that dark cave, or in the first level of W2.
As issue I'm reporting some loud noises music makes on accurate emulators. Addressing a fixme.

Overall, 2/5. If the beginning wasn't this repetitive design-wise, I'd give a 3/5.
