No Title Screen Movement v2.0

SMW Patches → No Title Screen Movement v2.0

Submission Details

Name: No Title Screen Movement v2.0
Authors: DiscoTheBat, Erik
Added:
Version History: View
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: No
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch sets the same address located in ROM Map but instead of just setting these addresses, it will delete the original movement data, freeing up 69 bytes of ROM.

Also, there is an REVERT if someone wants to use the original movement only.

Erik557 update: now can nuke LM's title screen recording data!

MarioTeam This probably happens because there are 2 ASM tests in the List.txt from UberASMTool. Just delete those ASM from the list and save.
I just deleted the files and everything is fine. Well, thanks for all the help!

MarioTeam I had an idea! There is an UberASM that makes Mario invisible! If you know how to use UberASMTool, you can try this in level C7. Remembering to always backup the hack. If it doesn't work out how to put it only in the level, try to put it as Gamemode (which in this case is 07). If the title screen has no floor, you can place a transparent block on act as 25 from Map 16 on page 2 onwards, and place it on act at 130.
I just inserted this patch at level C7 and it worked, but when I opened level 105, Mario got bugged. However, on the other levels he is normal. Well, I edited level 105, but I guess I'll have to put it aside. Well, thanks so much for the help!

MarioTeam Hmm...strange, it was supposed to work. Make sure you have saved the modification on Lunar Magic, or try putting another copy of the original ROM for testing. #lm{save} Instead of a patch, try doing Mario's move manually in Snes9x. There is a Fortaleza Reznor tutorial on YouTube, or a tweak that also won't force the entire game that is in the case of the patch. I highly recommend that every change you make to any hack, MAKE A BACKUP!
Damn, none of this worked, but thanks for the help anyway. I think I'll have to make a title screen with Mario appearing on the screen. #wario{:'(}

MarioTeam You have to go to level C7 on Lunar Magic, in which it uses the game's intro, and there you'll click on the icon of Mario's head #lm{MARIO69}, and on the camera movement you click the "No Vertical and Horizontal Scroll" option for Mario not to appear, and thus put Mario off the screen. I hope it helps you!

That did not happen the case #smrpg{sad}. But anyway, thanks for the help!

Hi! Well, I have a problem with this patch: it disables Mario's movements, but the camera remains focused on the player. From what I've seen, some hacks use this patch to hide Mario from the screen (I think). That's my goal, as I want to show only the title screen scenery, centering the camera. But when I place the player on top of the screen to hide it, the camera shows it, regardless of the position it is in. Maybe I'm wrong, this patch might just be to disable Mario's movements, but it doesn't center the camera. But if not, do you have a solution? I'm sorry if my English is bad.

Tested with: Asar 1.71, LM 3.11, SA-1 1.32 and ZMZ 1.08.

This patch is up to standards and requires no remoderation.

This patch does nothing. I apply it, and my player still moves normally.

Didn't you installed LM's recording feature?

This obviously doesn't work anymore as soon as you used Lunar Magic's recording feature, as that installs an entirely different ASM hack. So this patch won't clear that one.

This patch does not use freespace and will work just the same with asar @toad64
