Oh, no! When Mario went to Dinosaur Land on a vacation, he found out that Princess Toadstool had been kidnapped by Bowser again! Koopalings trap Yoshi's friends in yellow eggs and when Yoshi tries to rescue them, Bowser traps him in a green egg, too! What's worse, Bowser uses a whole lot of new obstacles to make sure that Mario won't reach him. This time, it's not gonna be that easy.
Super Mario World: Again in Dinosaur Land is supposed to be a pure vanilla hack that tries to be a theoretical sequel to Super Mario World. The hack may play quite generic, however most setups were created with thought and some of them are parts of a couple gimmicks. A couple further levels are gonna focus on some unused in original game content to make it even more interesting.
The demo contains 8 first levels (including Green Switch Palace) of the hack. The rest of the levels is still not determined, however further world themes are. Also the title level is not final yet.
Yeah, there is a bit of some vanilla SMW's levels in there still, but nowhere near enough to make it worth being concerned over. And I also recommend you move the Green Switch Palace to a later area in the hack if you plan on making this a huge game to play.
Everything else holds up pretty well and the demo was enjoyable to play.
Thank you, kaitri! When the next demo comes out (if it ever happens), I'll try to make the first levels easier than that. Levels in late worlds won't use green switch palace blocks so much, but rather red and blue ones.
i was (and am) a bit sceptical. every level beginning will instantly remind you of the vanilla smw levels.
but after the first 1-2 screens you'll see the levels arent just copy pasted. it is a pretty enjoyable hack for casuals. difficulty would be normal imo.
the first switch palace being the green one is fine for a short 10 exit demo, but if you plan on making a full hack with idk 50+ exits, i'd put the green palace in a later area.
i cant say much about this hack, its good, looks nice and plays well.
