Description: This simple patch replaces the bonus stars at the course clear and gives you coins instead as seen in e.g. JUMP. In addition, you can disable to display bonus star on the status bar or the 1-up bonus if the time's last two digits are identical to the bonus stars due to the fact that the patch renders bonus stars useless.

The best thing is that you don't need any freespace at all.

Despite being a bunch of hex-edits, it's well constructed and pieced together, so it's acceptable. Working fine, so it can be safely hosted.

Corrected two small oversights that created errors when reapplying the patch after disabling previously enabled optional features. Nothing else has been changed.

I don't much care for the bonus stars myself, and having something to get rid of them is handy on its own. Being able to re-purposes their code into something actually useful is all the better! Its simplicity is just a bonus, as far as I'm concerned.

Very nice, but this disables the item in the item box. I also cannot patch it without first changing "!No1UpBonusStars" to just "!1UpBonusStars". Simple fix though, and the rest of the patch works as expected.

I now realised that this the main part can be done with a hex edit at $05CF12, lol. However, I think we can keep this since even if the information is at the ROM map, you still have to search for the other addresses ($05CC66 and $05CD51) to recreate my patch.
And since the game doesn't modify the bonus stars anymore, the counter on the status gets useless too which may or may not be hard to edit without a status bar editor.
