Tip: When determining a time limit, remember that players won't be as familiar with the level as you are. If you normally complete the level with the timer around 100, others might run out of time on their first try.
Krack the Hack is a short 14-exit hack where you play as a recently-transformed Koopa who is tasked to collect keys to save the Rixzo Army from the evil clutches of Bowser. Each stage has at least 4 keys required to beat the stages, with a twist in each level to make them all a new experience. The game starts easy, and then quickly ramps up in difficulty from beginning to end, to post-end. Each stage contains a moon to find, and something else as well.
Can you get through all 14 stages and find all the secrets?
Those who downloaded v1.0.0 or 1.1.1 can continue from their current save file. Those who downloaded v1.1.0, my dearest apologies: that shouldn't have happened.
I genuinely enjoyed this hack and think that it accomplished what it set out to do. The levels are really fun and I like the decision to tie it into a story, even though I couldn't really keep up with it. The unexpected dialogue sequences, playing as a koopa, the train, the goofy chucks, the keys as level goals- all these little quirky decisions and more add up to a surprisingly fun experience.
Great work, and I hope to see much more of this series.
AMAZING HACK! The theme and the music was incredible, the story was really well done and interesting! And side not, why does the difficulty says very hard? For me it was quite easy! Aside from that you did a fantastic job sir, 10 out of 10
Nice work guys. I really enjoyed this! I'm not one for the lore cutscenes but I do appreciate the effort that went into making them. The Achievements feature was a nice touch!
Okay, so since a lot of people are having trouble with the "Blend with your kind" achievement, I'm going to reveal the exact way on how it's done until v1.2.0 comes out. Basically,
the intent is to follow the koopas where the mushroom platforms are. However to truly pull it off, you have to be on the ground with the chuck gone to do it. Then you have to walk (or run!) between the two points the bottom koopa turns around. Also both koopas have to be alive in order for it to work correctly. With that in mind, the sequel in House of the Hallow is about the same, only it's way more obvious I hope.
We have made it a lot more forgiving to solve by adding multiple solutions in the next update, but we won't explain anything else about it. Hopefully the new version will be easier to get this particular achievement for future v1.1.1 and v1.1.2 players!
Re-categorised this to "Very Hard." I did like it though it's not something I'll be playing again soon because of how stressful I found it lol, especially the special world, but a lot of care went into this (except for the YUMP level which I've let slide because of where it's placed)
