Looking at this makes me think about a type of jumping piranha plant that jumps from one pipe to the other as it shoots out, either facing up or down depending on its original position and its new one.
this is an interesting turn (no pun intended) in the jumping piranha plant. i remember doing an upside-down jumping piranha plant for a non-smwc contest 2 years ago. the downside and side fireballs are quite awesome too.
maybe the rightwards piranha can be fixed by extending the suboffscreen range? (i.e. lda #$03 : %SubOffScreen() ) (and assuming it happens when scrolling to the right, the same could happen to leftwards ones when scrolling to the right?)
Tested with: PIXI 1.2.10 (last one, I promise), LM 3.10, ZMZ 1.08 and SA-1 1.32.
It works, except for the fact the rightwards piranha sometimes does not spawn. A minor reason not enough to warrant a removal, but consider look into it, please, as this sprite of yours is rather ingenious. I seriously liked its implementation.
