Details for VWF Level Intros v. 1.22
SMW Patches - VWF Level Intros v. 1.22 Show random
File Name: VWF Level Intros v. 1.22
Added:
Version History: View
Authors: Ladida, imamelia
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch replaces the "Mario/Luigi Start!" that shows up when you enter a level with an intro similar to what Yoshi's Island has, where the level name is displayed a character at a time in a variable-width font.

Now displays properly on real hardware.

Tested with SNES9X versions 1.62, 1.60, 1.56.2 and 1.55, SA-1 and LoROM. Also with BSNES+0.5.

Everything works fine. Just a minor issue tthat seems to be emulator-related with just SNES9X1.62: screen flashes for a very few frames before showing the VWF intro. Doesn't seem to happen in previous versions so I accepted it anyways. sorry snes9x1.62 hasn't come out at this point lol, i'm mispelling 1.56.2

Tested in:
  • Asar 1.71
  • Lunar Magic 3.03
  • SA-1 Pack 1.32
  • AddmusicK 1.06
  • SNES9x 1.60
  • BSNES+ v04
Unlike GamecraftOriginal's update, which was a minor one (and also didn't fix any glitches, it just added an option to add music to the intro), this one is a proper remoderation update. That means, this patch is now SA-1 compatible.
I also replaced the new yifont.bin with the old one as the new one had ugly letters (that is, the graphics are taken straight from SMW including background colour).

Be aware that if you use an intro music, it should be best a global song to minimise lags.
