Tip: Switch palace switches normally disappear if you replay the level. However, if you insert them as direct Map16 and use the hex edit at $00EEB2 in the ROM map, you can replay the level without a problem.
This is a near one-to-one remake of the bob-omb sprite from Super Mario Maker 1. It includes multiple defines allowing you to customize it's speed during and before being kicked,
change the physics of Mario after you throw the bomb and much more, shoutouts to Mellonpizza for creating the bob-omb disassembly and Dtothefourth for the graphics.
- Added full SA-1 compatibility
- Added some optimizations to the code.
Do you need some Super Mario Maker styled sprites for the Para-Bombs? All that is not included is a diagonal pose. Nintendo actually made a front sitting pose sprite that appears to be based on a Para-Bomb on the Miis T-Shirt for Super Mario Maker 2. I faithfully recreated it including the original one or keeping both sides consistent from that stray pixel. I hope this becomes useful.
While you can add Para-Bombs into Super Mario Maker 2 by adding a parachute to a Bob-omb, they just reuse the horizontal sitting pose much like giving the winged Bob-ombs. https://sta.sh/215tmbx1fttl
Tested with: LM 3.11, pixi 1.2.14, SA-1 1.32, Snes9x 1.60. There seem to be no issues with the sprite, so accepted.
Definitely an impressive work in remaking the SMM bomb physics, I hope we'll see more from you
