Details for Earthworm Jim - Lens Flare
SMW Graphics - Earthworm Jim - Lens Flare Show random
File Name: Earthworm Jim - Lens Flare
Added:
Authors: DTA450
Type: Ripped
Purpose: Layer 3
Description: A sun reflection graphic used in the first level of Earthworm Jim.
In the original game this is a 'layer 2 background', but I converted it so it can be used as layer 3.

It includes 3 ExGFX files (one for the tilemap), two sample levels (one of two allow priority above other layers), and two palettes (one of two make it more visible).

A little problem, when using it with minimalist status bar, the parenthesis of the item reserve block look glitched. Is there a way to fix this?

The parenthesis are in GFX2A in LG3, however the ExGFX overwrite LG3 and LG4, that's why they look glitchy.
All I can recommend you is to open the original GFX2A, copy the parenthesis tiles to the ExGFX, and remap the tiles that make the statusbar glitchy to the unused last 4 tiles in the second ExGFX (in LG4); you will have to modify the layer 3 in lunar magic.

This looks pretty neat honestly. I wonder if you could rig it up with some ASM to make it fade when layer 2 isn't showing the background area at the origin point.

Nice! I believe this effect is usually called a "lens flare"
