This effect can also be recreated with the mario exgfx patch by roy but this is also an optional choice as the one by roy isn't sa-1 and could cause problems for others who are using any patches that changes how mario uses his graphics so yeah this is cool

Tested with: LM 3.11, UberASMTool 1.4, SA-1 1.32, Snes9x 1.60. Very simple but it does its job, so accepted.
