A nice little town theme; you may use it either in quiet areas (title level, Yoshi's house and such), overworlds or just city levels.
Also, it suits an oceanside town, harbor, relaxed-paced boat stages, navigating large rocks on the high waters, or 'friendly' lighthouse area well. (Counterfeit)
Extra credit may go to vgmusic.com user "Joo *Johnnyz* Buaes" for the midi he've sequenced.
I've found Pokémon Gen. I and II music are a bit lacking in the music section. If you like what to hear, feel free to dm me a request.
Thanks Counterfeit!!! It means a lot to me.
Yes, I enjoyed very much doing this one. I'm adding your proposed uses to my description.
I would update the intro, but to me it is already "pum chik pum pum chik chik, chik"; would be better if I decreased my noise frequency specially on the "pums" of the intro (1 more instrument)?
I love it! The main part of the song is spot-on. It captures the sound and feel of the original. Though it's Violet City, I think more of the port city Olivine City. Both are right on the ocean though you're more walled off from exploring the sea in the namesake's area. It suits an oceanside town, harbor, relaxed-paced boat stages, navigating large rocks on the high waters, or 'friendly' lighthouse area well.
One critique: I think the intro's lacking the punch of the original, since I think there's supposed to be a lower-pitched second "noise channel" simulation of a bass drum during the first, third, and fourth hi-hats. It should sound kinda like, "pum chik pum pum chik chik, chik" if that makes any sense =D
