Are you searching for a game with straight up cool platforming? Then you're in the right place!
Misty Out There is an intermediate to difficult kaizo:light hack featuring cool and intuitive setups/mechanics for a simple and interesting gameplay.
The game has a lot of quality of life and fix patches for a flowing and fun experience. There's also various chocolate: custom blocks, custom sprites, but not too much.
I also wanted to thank again my playtesters and the community on the forum/discord that helped me out.
Not sure how it happened, but I was replaying some of the levels and died near the start of the first level, only to discover that mario never exited the pipe at the start and was stuck in a death loop.
<3 that was great. Even a custom boss at the end. Cool castle too. I didn't like the look and music of the yoshi level and thought some setups in Sunny Inferno and Optimus were a little convoluted.
Other than that i had a blast. I was saying "Now we are platforming!" out loud in almost every level because of how good playing them felt.
Misty Out There is a serious contender for Kaizo Hack of the Year 2020.
Echoing what other folks have said, it's super fun, really creative, and nothing is frustrating. A couple setups here and there were a little tricky to figure out, but once you do, everything flows so smoothly.
The jumps were challenging, the obstacles were never truly confusing, and every level had so many "Alright that's awesome" moments. Had I been streaming this, you would have seen a smile on my face the entire time. Like Naro said, this hack is just downright cheerful and enjoyable.
If you haven't played this hack yet, you're out of your fuckin gourd. You're likely still quarantined, so why not make it enjoyable?
I eagerly await the day when the mist clears so we can get a sequel
This hack is incredibly fun. I enjoyed every level of my playthrough. I randomly picked this up from the "Waiting Files" section and I'm sure glad that I did. The level "By the Deads" was very fun. The final castle was fun to play. Top to bottom, this is really well done. Bravo.
incredibly fun platforming. awesome, awesome stuff. really taken by this one, it has a really positive vibe to it that i think other beginner kaizo players will appreciate a lot, as well. "Spawnkill" is such a fun stage it's almost unbelievable. echoing Naro on this one.
