Description: This patch allows the Growing/shrinking Pipe End sprite to act as an exit-enabled pipe when the extra bit is set. This opens up new possibilities for how the Growing/shrinking pipe end is used, and makes them worth exploring to the player rather than simply being another obstacle.

For this patch to work properly, you must run PIXI on the ROM at least once.

Usage tip: Since the Pipe end is a sprite, it isn't affected by the mosaic fadeout like regular pipes. Therefore, it's recommended to have a regular pipe-top behind the sprite to blend them together as well as possible during the fadeout.

The growing/shrinking pipes are a vanilla sprite (sprite 49). They require the "Forest" sprite GFX setting to appear properly.

Tested with: Asar 1.71, SA-1 1.32, Lunar Magic 3.11 and ZMZ 1.08.

Accepted. HammerBrother's notes should be taken into consideration when using the exit-enabled sprite variation.

Be careful for “horizontal screen boundary” (if you have the level vertical or at least a level dimension height of $0D-$1C) if the cap manages to be positioned on two screen regions as it moves, as Mario will take the screen he is currently on during a screen fade.
