Authors: JamesD28
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch will give the player a reward for successfully yumping a Palace Switch. You can choose to give the player lives, coins, or give Mario a new powerup state. It also modifies the Palace message routine to not show the message until coins are finished adding up.

Conversely, you can also punish the player for failing a Yump. You can take away a few coins, make Mario small, outright give the player a game over for failing a Yump, and everything in-between.

Works as it should, both penalties and prizes, so it's accepted. From what I looked at (and talked to James about), it should be possible to make this work per individual switch, but it would require an update to the patch. Regardless, it's still great having this be a thing.

The first GIF is demonstrating the player not Yumping, so nothing changes.

The lives counter changes instantly, so no message delay is needed, whereas the coin counter tallies 1 coin per frame, so the delay is needed there.

huh, didn't know that the word "yump" actually meant something in SMW outside of just being a funny name for a certain hack (or in general) lol; nice

"the yump didn't yump!" -people attempting to perform a yump, and consequently failing to yump.

Maybe with detriment option, you can finally go "NUMP, reset" in reality. :p
Or literally reset the game (delete save just for extra option) to make even better.

Could this also be rigged to detriment the player for failing a YUMP? I'd have to look at the patch but I feel like if that isn't already doable, it might be a cool feature to add.
