File Name: Fireball Direction Fix
Added:
Authors: Aerithos
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No
Featured: No
Description: This patch fixes the spawning of Mario's fireball to first try to use the controller's currently held left or right direction to determine initial direction of the fireball.

If neither controller direction is currently being held, it defaults back to Mario's current facing direction.

This can help make fireballs from a spinjump more consistent.

Tested with:

• Lunar Magic 3.11
• SA-1 Pack v1.32
• Asar v1.71
• Snes9x v1.60

Works as intended, so, accepted. While not technically a fix, it's a neat little change over the vanilla shooting mechanic.

Regarding the submission note: Having the mechanic be toggled with freeRAM could be a useful addition, but it isn't required unless you wish to include it. Perhaps it could be added in a future update.

Should I also change the word 'Fix' in the title and 'fixes' in the description and patch comment header to something that doesn't represent a bug fix?

'changes' is a good replacement for 'fixes' in the description/comment, but I can't think of a better replacement for 'Fix' in the title.

.... Alternate Spin-Jump Fireballs, change the title to that. Good patch.

Er, I don't think this is a bug fix. If any, it's more like a change to vanilla behavior. Still, good patch.
