Description: Don't play this unless you know what you're in for.

I made this hack for GlitchCat7, a good friend who has taught me a lot as a kaizo player and as a person over the last few years. Glitch has made an indelible impact on my life; this is the least I could do in return. This hack is meant to challenge him a bit, but still to be something he will enjoy.

That doesn't go for the rest of you. Glitch is one of the best SMW kaizo players out there, so building something to challenge him meant cranking up the difficulty. While I truly believe that I held back some and that a few sections might be more generally enjoyable, this hack isn't for beginner or even intermediate kaizo players.

There's quite a bit of item abuse in this hack. There's a midair shell jump. There are some precise cape maneuvers influenced by Pogyo's hacks. There's a custom boss built from scratch by the unholy yet sacred talents of dtothefourth. There are surfing disco shells and free-range chucks and slippery vines. It gets weird. It gets challenging.

If you would like to play a version without the midair level, please reach out via Discord or Twitter. The rest of the hack is significantly less brutal and much more approachable, though still intended for advanced kaizo players. I consider this version the official one, which is why it's the only file included here, but I understand midairs aren't for everyone.

If you play this, I sincerely hope you enjoy your time. You have been warned.

V1.1 Changes

- Message block for clarity added to "Glackum Named This Pepto Bismol River"

- Nerfs applied to the ending of the first section of "Slide Tree" the ending of the second section of "Apotheosis," and the ending of the second section of "But It Isn't Enough To Just Go On Singing." The second of these removes ldad's overworld-breaking cheese.

- The first section of "But It Isn't Enough To Just Go On Singing" and the first section of "I Build Sins Not Tragedies" have been redesigned and made easier.

Boss was cool, and I really enjoyed the cape level. Generally, the rest I could do without. Levels had filler-ish parts and then one or two bullshit parts that kill you a million times ("unethical!"). The Fishing Boo section was a nightmare.

I didn't understand why the endgame was accessible in Yoshi's house from the very beginning. I didn't know that was the endgame (I guess I'm supposed to understand that from the portrait? a stretch imo) so I played through it and was irked to find I had to do it again for the last exit. Overall, I'd say this hack was just OK.

Well, I went into this hack hoping that it would be a really hard challenge, as the description implied. Alas I was disappointed in the difficulty. The only real hard item abuse/hard tricks was the level that had the wall run to Yump to mid air, which was also a little sad since it was so short. I hate to say it but it really did lean towards intermediate for me. Not a bad hack, but rather went against what the creator lead me to believe it was going to be. Thank you for the fun hack

When it goes up (at 12pm on Monday, August 31st Central Time), here's a link to the clear vids for levels (except the final boss) for anyone who might get confused by any setups.
