After months, my first ever SMW Romhack is finally now complete! Anyways, plot: Mario goes to this land. Called Mushroom Rix Land. For his vacation. However, Bowser has taken over this island! Mario must stop him! WARNING! DO NOT PLAY THIS HACK ON ZSNES AS IT WILL CRASH SINCE THIS HACK USES SA-1!

I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. Made the decision to use save states to my advantage at some point, and that was a really good call, because the further I got, the more levels were designed in such a way that not using save states would've been infuriating - part of it was just annoying design (the ice world comes to mind), but most of it was due to levels being too long/tough (which wouldn't be a problem if there was infinite lives). Towards the end, levels start blurring the line between standard/kaizo, though since there's no tricks required, it should be accessible - for the most part: That final castle *definitely* should have had a checkpoint after every room imo; each of them is practically the length of an entire level on their own already.

Ultimately, I'm giving this a 3/5. It'd have been higher if I didn't feel the need to use save states to enjoy it without losing my sanity.

(Also, not sure if it was my bsnes settings or something, but the hack didn't seem to like the levels where the second half was an autoscroller. If I died during either and tried to re-enter them from the checkpoint, the game would freeze on the "Mario Start" screen.)

This hack is enjoyable except when you get to the abstract world. The levels are just too trial and error heavy and usually demands prior knowledge on how to beat them. Last level is too long and frustrating and I had to resort to using a savestate to be able to keep my midpoint due to the lack of lives.

3/5

Great hack so far. In terms of life farm...just go to Lunar and put like 100 one-ups in a level so you don't have to keep game over-ing. Beautiful design, cool new physics, challenging levels with good pre-Kaizo practice.

Pretty Hard Hack!!! but level design and graphics are extremely good #wario{:peace:}

Oh look, another great non-kaizo SMW hack that fails to give the player a life farm or a reasonable amount of 1-ups to prevent getting a game over. It's baffling that in all the time you spent making this, you overlooked such a basic, quality-of-life feature for the player. If you are going to create a hard hack, the least you can do is provide more lives for the player compared to vanilla SMW, especially considering that you are using chocolate mechanics.

1/5. It's a shame since this game otherwise has great music, cool level design, and an obvious amount of effort put into it.

This hack does extremely well in terms of bringing new gimmicks and variety to its levels.
The feel super refined are quite a challenge so keep that in mind if you want to play this.
I would actually recommended it purely on the challenge alone however the mix of creative ideas and appealing visuals kept me playing even in the hacks toughest stages.
