SMW Blocks → One Tile Vertical Pipes

Submission Details

Name: One Tile Vertical Pipes
Author: westslasher2
Added:
Version History: View
Act As: 130
Includes GFX: No
Description: These blocks act similar to traditional vertical pipe blocks except it no longer checks for your position making it much easier to enter the pipe, this is also very useful for if you want to have pipes that are shorter or longer than 2 tiles wide. (like the jars from Super Mario Bros. 2)

Version 1.1 Changes:
- Added SA-1 compatibility
- Merged the two blocks from 1.0 into 1 file.
- Changed FreeRAM address to avoid conflict with other patches.

Could definitely see this being used in kaizo hacks to make the dreaded up-pipe easier. Definitely a nice quality of life block that will find some use and everything seems to work as intended, so it's accepted. Note that the Hide.asm file isn't entirely necessary, the block will work just fine without it, but if you prefer the quicker disappearance of the player then it's there if you want it.

Vertical pipe's enterable ranges from $0003 to $001C inclusively (relative to the left-half cap, $0000 is centered within the 16x16 grid of the left-half cap).

Therefore, you have $0019 (25) pixel width that you can enter them.

These work fine. I feel like you can combine them into a single block that works both ways, though, since one side should be blocked off by solid tiles, right? That and SA-1 compatibility would be great updates to make, but as it is it works fine.
