Now this BG can be used in layer 3 format. You can:
-view the BG in the sample file;
-see the BG is 256x256, so it's recommended you must enable None for both horizontal and vertical scrolling.
-notice the layer 3 BG uses 252 8x8 tiles.
-see the palette cam be changed.
-see I included a new custom palette, useful for forests/jungles in alternate dimensions.
-.pal and .palmask files are included.
