I wish I had taken more notes while playing this. It's a solid hack. Fun, mostly vanilla with some custom boss sprites. Polished. Worth a play.

Fun hack. Bumping difficulty to "hard" because the hack exceeded "normal" difficulty in multiple levels, though not by too much. I noticed a few users saying in the previous version's comments that it should be "very hard," but the difficulty never approaches that.

One minor thing you may want to fix if you update the hack is the exit count on the file select screen. Because the hack has more than 96 exits, you should make these changes to the ROM so that the exit count displays correctly at 96 exits and up.

Indeed, it seems that the pipe at the end of the room should be enter able, but it aint!

What a great vanilla game ! I really enjoyed playing it from the start to the end.

All levels are very creative and we can clearly see a lot of work has been put in them, palettes are wonderful, and so is the overworld. There is a very nice plot and some secrets are required to finish the game.

Difficulty is okay, becoming harder though to the end.

There a severe bug when you are on palace of pricks on the map : if push the direction cross to the bottom, you'll go in the scenery, then you'll have to reset and lost your 5 coins progression.

Aestetic : very good
Map design : messy
Difficulty : is like a bmw or mariage : it suppose to be fun, but it try to kill you most of the time. VERY HARD

Hi: I'm liking your hack so far but I found an error as well. You can get softlocked in the room of the secret exit of "Scrambling Shells" if you destroy the koopa shell of the koopa that tries to hit you by following you.

I'm really glad you applied my suggestions. The hack is much better now, but most imporatntly, it doesn't have any major issues, and gameplay-wise, it's worth accepting.
It's not an extremly fancy hack, but, like the author says, it's a mostly vanilla hack, with a traditional design, spicied up in the castles for more difficult challenges.
A good hack, sure worth a shot. 3/5.
