Description: | The sequel to my first hack: Super Ninji Land. Join Ninji on their quest to find Bowser and learn the truth about his old lab. This hack is somewhat more story focused than the first one, but the story isn't too special (don't expect too much from it). Ninji doesn't play exactly like vanilla Mario. Due to their small size, your hitbox will always be small. Ninji can also wall-jump because they're a ninja. There are 6 worlds in this hack as well as an optional extra world with more challenging levels (The hack is still short, that's why it's called "Land"). The extra world is far more difficult than the main worlds. All worlds end with a custom boss (except for the world 4 boss). They aren't the best bosses and they aren't the main focus of the hack, I just wanted to have custom bosses. Almost every level has 5 Star Coins. They give you a 1-up after collecting all five. They aren't too important and are simply there so that you can get more out of the levels in terms of exploration and challenge. I included a "Read Me" file in the zip. In it, you will find the credits and some information you might want to know before playing the hack. What's changed in Version 1.1? Mostly some minor things like the vertical scroll in propeller block sections and some level design changes in the extra levels. You might also find some new areas in some levels The full list of changes is found in the Read Me file. Version 1.2 change: There's only one change. The path above the world 3 castle was open before you even clear it, so I fixed it. |

Each level is very colorful, with plenty of nice stuff, wall jumping in particular is a really neat addition ! The redrawing of the Ninji sprite, whose power-up status becomes way smaller, is very appreciated. And so is the unusual 16x32 hitbox !
Difficulty is ok, game having quite normal difficulty but ending harder, especially the final boss.
The museum is a wondeful add to the game, first time I've seen this =] It's very pleasurable to eventually know about which games are all those SMW hacks familiar tracks taken from =]
The story is well-thought and balanced (not too much text but also not too little), making the progression interesting (you are quite impatient for knowing the next part of the story after each beaten castle).
The Dragon Coin completion is fun, but it might become even more, should the completed levels have the Dragon Coin icon sitting next to them on the overworld in order to track 100% completion =] This also would be a nice incentive to find them all and then discover all of your level design work ^^
10/10 (5 stars) Thank you very much =]

The story is stronger than the first one, the new mechanism and objects are fantastic, the graphics are really well-done, and changing character sprite and size, was not only a right decision, but it was needed.
The only problem with this hack, is it's graphics. There were some graphic glitches, but they were minor and barely noticeable. The other problem with the graphics, is that in some levels, it's hard to differentiate background elements and foreground (interactable) elements
Really liked the Ninja Dojo level and I'll be looking forward to more demos on the road up to the full release.
