Tip: Use this patch to fix the bug where editing the upper right 8x8 tile of the sideways walking Koopa Troopa in GFX01 makes the coin sparkles look glitchy.
This is a flying sprite found in 5-6 in SMB3 as well as a few levels in newer Mario games. Its speed, direction, and size are customizable.
Updates by MarkAlarm: expands the extra byte functionality to allow using all 8 sprite palettes, along with adding a "toxicity" behavior to standing on the para-beetle, which will hurt/kill the player depending on the bits set. Update requested by gohkenytp8. Also includes slightly updated graphics and palette by Anorakun.
Works as intended, so, update accepted. If I'm being nitpicky, it would have been nice for the X speed to be settable per-sprite with an extra byte, rather than it being determined by the palette. It's minor though.
The palettes should've been red, green, blue, yellow for normal and palette E for the toxicity palette.
You didn't specify that in your request thread. Defining the toxicity behavior is independent of the palette so you just need to define both to be the way you want. Set the extra byte accordingly and you should be good to go.
