Tip: Switch palace switches normally disappear if you replay the level. However, if you insert them as direct Map16 and use the hex edit at $00EEB2 in the ROM map, you can replay the level without a problem.
Quickie World: With a Vengeance is a fast paced, beginner friendly kaizo hack with no trolls. It still aims to provide an exciting challenge to those who want something a bit more difficult than the originals.
This game is the result of a 27 hour fundraising stream. All level ideas, names, music, etc. were chosen by members of the SMW community. Maybe level names/music won't match. Thank you so much for helping me out! Go fast, don't hesitate.
THIS IS NOT QUICKIE WORLD 3
THIS IS MORE CHALLENGING THAN QUICKIE WORLD 1 OR 2

Definitely a little harder than QW1 and 2. Didn't really seem as polished as the other quickies but that is understandable given the time constraints. Still a lot of beginner friendly fun and overall a decent hack. I'm excited to see what Valdio gives us for Quickie World 3!!!
Awesome hack. Valdio always brings an extremely high level of creativity with vanilla SMW assets in all of his levels, and each level feels distinct.
People complaining about the "lack of polish" and difficulty need to get a grip. It's kaizo. It's not meant to be easy. This is way better than many modern kaizo hacks that only revolve around doing regrabs off of different types of enemies with shell jumps while listening to Mega Man X.
Valdio has a really good intuition for how to make a game fun. He didn't spend much time making this, but there's something really charming about playing a game that went from inspiration to realization in 27 hours. It's got that "first-take magic" that musicians are always trying to capture
Really enjoyed this hack for the most part. I can definitely tell it's not quite as polished as QW 1 and 2, but still really solid and fun for the most part. A Fools Fish was an unholy monstrosity and *spoilers* had one of the funniest trolls I've ever fallen for haha.
There were a few levels that were sort thumbs for me though -- particularly the last level, which I didn't enjoy at all (side note: getting to the end of the first segment without a shell causes a softlock that requires resetting the game). I also *really* wasn't a fan of the double throw block maneuver at the end of O Valencia.
Regardless, great fun overall. Ending the hack with the Greenpath music was a nice touch. Looking forward to QW 3, whenever it may happen!
I've played the original version, so I don't know about the nerfs, it was really fun, but it was extremely tight, but that's to be expected of a hack that didn't have a lot of playtesting, I wish you the best with your future hacks, cheers.
I highly recommend the less nerfed v1.1 (or v1.0 with 50% more spitting and tonguing) if you can find it. Very easy-going vignettes of levels. Lots of fun, with each exit averaging a 15 minute clear time for your typical solid intermediate player.
Great hack and even more-so considering the time frame. As someone who barely finished a 4 exit hack in a weekend, the fact that these 10 exits are as fun and well tested as they are is truly impressive. Certainly whet my appetite for QW3!
Amazing game, doubly so knowing that it was made in such a short time span. It's got that speedy, don't hesitate vibe that we all know and love, with a bit sharper teeth. Thanks for everything you do Valdio!
Wow, this hack was harder than I anticipated. The levels are short but they're actually kinda difficult at times. Good pick for anyone who played Quickie 1 and 2, and wants a bit of a step up in difficulty without having to beat a ton of exits. The levels are short and sweet, as in every Quickie World. Glad to see you making stuff again!
My only criticism is that there were a couple setups that weren't the most intuitive, such as the second half of the vine level (it's easy to miss the shells and you can accidentally stun the shell if you hit the ? block too early), and the end of the throw block level is way harder than the rest of it.
Aside from that I enjoyed this hack and it's nice to see you creating more levels again. Hope that the fundraising stream went well and I'm looking forward to see QW3 in the future!
