Description: Studies of a broken engine is a onescreen hack that focuses on abusing lesser-known glitches and mechanics. It consists of 50 rooms that are split up into 10 areas of 5 rooms each. Despite requiring numerous very precise glitches that are frequently associated with pit hacks, it is intended for RTA play. Considering how obscure some of the intended solutions are, it might however be more enjoyable to try out some things using savestates before actually attempting to clear a room RTA. Or maybe it isn't, decide that for yourself...

Also, my guess is that this hack is very hard. If you expect something comparable to the Nightmare Cafe series, this hack is not for you.

Downloaded this to "check it out" never actually expecting to finish it, but it was so well done and beautifully made that I just kept going. If you have interest in obscure glitches and the patience for insanely precise setups, definitely give this one a try. Thanks for making this HF!

Also, like ThirdWall mentioned below, I would recommend watching some videos if you get stuck. I personally had a lot of fun puzzling out as much of this as I could, but there were certainly plenty of rooms I would have never been able to figure out without help.

This is easily the most difficult kaizo: light hack I have ever played. I highly recommend using videos and/or savestates for some of the rooms, unless you have an encyclopedic knowledge of the engine or a heck of a lot of patience. This hack definitely stretches the limit of the category as far as it will go. It’s incredibly creative and an experience to play. Good luck

You are one of the few people who knows the game so well as to arrange the setups you want in perfect order, no matter how strange and sick they may be. (As they are to me). #w{xD}
I'll try it as a challenge but I don't promise to finish it. Excellent work! #w{=3}

It takes logical thinking, it's fun, and the level designs are pretty good too. I loved it!
