Description: Voyager is a fast paced, intermediate Kaizo hack with some puzzle elements and a light narrative. It is overall mostly vanilla but includes some chocolate mechanics. It aims to be somewhat of a challenge for all Kaizo skillsets (beginners be warned), but overall it aims to be fun.

It includes brand new custom graphics, but I tried to keep them as similar to the original SMW style as possible. There is a light story to add some theming and atmosphere, but its not a major focus, just there for people who enjoy that sort of thing.

Also includes:

- 8 secret portrait rooms
- Custom Music
- Music-free file
- Checkpoint saves
- Fast Retry
- Standard quality of life patches

What to expect:

- Modern, fast paced gameplay
- A balance of standard platforming and tricks
- Some puzzly set-ups
- No Kaizo blocks
- No bosses
- Semi open world
- Trolls
- Music that compliments the atmosphere of the level rather than non-stop "bangers" (sorry)

Thanks for playing, good luck, and ENJOY!

10/1 UPDATE:

- added a couple coins in Lothlorien to aid readability
- Fixed some overworld routing issues
- Fixed a couple empty/broken message boxes (Moonside, Warp Palace)

10/3 UPDATE (v1.27):

- nerfed/removed some trolls, especially the worst offenders
- added some indicators to aid readability
- fixed typos
- Fixed sprite loading issue in Noble Sacrifice
- Removed the 2nd Section of Teal switch house

In the Teal Switch House, the key Mario is holding doesn't seem to open the last door before the up-pipe.

Is there something I'm missing?

EDIT: I'm encountering the same problem in
Palace Maximus
.

UPDATE: This appears to be a MiSTer-specific problem. If I load the save file in RetroArch, I can go through either door just fine.

Criminally underrated/unnoticed hack, where are the streamers at on this?? this has to go down as one of my all time favorites.. almost every level was very fun with unique setups and fun gameplay, not to mention the beautiful graphics and the stellar soundtrack that was appropriate for each level. definitely going to check out your other hacks now, Parahax.

This is a very well done hack. Incredible lore, polished level aesthetics, and excellent choices in music.

Without a doubt, a very beautiful hack, with great gameplay, each phase a decoration superior to the other. The only thing that disappointed me a little, was the amount of trolls. I escaped from one, and ended up falling into another, and when I thought there was nothing else, there was another troll. It was a little annoying, because I played a little scared, but it's nothing that is very serious. Congratulations to the creators, is a great hack.

Really enjoying this hack so far. Great visuals, fun levels with great setups and some really cool tunes for the stages. Nice job man!

Cool Hack

Probably the coolest lore/theming in any kaizo hack I've played, it reminded me of JRPGs of the Snes era. It's really nice to be immersed into a hack through other means than only gameplay (and this goes for kaizo just as well as for standard hacks imho).

Just saw the trailer, looks wonderful. Love the semi puzzle aspect … very much my style.

If I ever get back into kaizo this will be the first one I hop into for sure 😃
