Tip: Try sketching out ideas for overworlds and levels. Even if they don't manage to fit into Lunar Magic completely, at least you have a base to work from, instead of doing it all from scratch.

Description: A Plumber For All Seasons is a hack I've worked on for a long time. Each world represents a different season — there's a Spring world, a Summer world, a Fall world, and a Winter world. (And some more!) Almost all the graphics are custom and hand-made.

A Plumber For All Seasons features:
  • 37 levels with 41 exits
  • almost entirely custom graphics, all of them hand-made
  • a focus on interesting, season-themed scenery and fun levels
  • an original soundtrack by some of SMWC's finest musicians
  • rewards and easter eggs for completionists

Changelog (see README for more details):
  • 2021-10-09: some difficulty balancing and minor bugfixes
  • 2021-09-02: made it easier to enter destroyed castles, added a warning about old emulators incorrectly displaying color gradients, as well as some other minor fixes and tweaks
  • 2021-07-27: made star coins save individually as you collect them (you no longer have to get them all in a single run! thanks to lx5) and fixed some minor gameplay issues
  • 2021-07-05: fixed a star coin not spawning, as well as some minor visual oversights

Thank you for this incredible ROM hack! I figured out how to get this to run in the native canoe emulator on SNES classic.
It involved running the SFROM Tool.exe, switching to Legacy mode, then under Advanced options and setting Preset ID to 109C.
Then saving as a .sfrom file and syncing that to the SNES classic and it runs (so far at least (first 6 stages)) in canoe. I haven't completed the full game so hopefully this method works.

You can watch playthrough videos to see the solution.
There's one house at the beginning that's blocked by pumpkins, and there's a way to switch off the pumpkins.

So far this is the best normal difficulty hackrom I have played. Everything in this hackrom is very well done, the graphics, the soundtrack, and the levels, each one with an interesting mechanic, and also the bosses. Too entertaining.

so awesome, the atmosphere, the level design, the graphics, the soundtrack

very fun. the levels leaned a little on the long side, but were built well enough that they didn't feel like they were overstaying their welcome, or resorting to filler. the difficulty curve felt fair and gradual, no spikes worth remembering. soundtrack got me boppin' my head at times, i love the setting, and i was amazed at some of the visual effects. i guarantee this will be one of the all-time classics in just a few years

A wonderful hack with great graphics, music, theming, level design and close-to-vanilla difficulty. I would gladly recommend this to anyone interested in ROM hacks!

One of the pinnacles of normal style hacks.

It's a perfect introduction piece to rom hacks in my opinion. With it's shorter run time than the huge 96/120 style mega hacks this hack is far more manageable and interesting for those new to hacks.

This hack uses some of the most beautiful graphics and interesting music, complete with a wonderful motif, that rom hacks can offer.

The levels are varied and maintain a slowly building difficulty that keeps the player entertained.

A good concept turned into a unique and defining hack.

Thank you for making this, I enjoyed every minute.

Very good. Unfortunately it didn't work on my Everdrive (Chinese version), but later I realized it's because of the SA-1 chip.
