Cape Wall and Spin Fly Fix

SMW Patches → Cape Wall and Spin Fly Fix

Submission Details

Name: Cape Wall and Spin Fly Fix
Authors: Alcaro, HammerBrother
Added:
Version History: View
Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: Yes
Featured: No
Description: Fixes the glitch where you can cape spin while wall running, which in rare cases can cause unintended behaviour.

GHB edit: now also fixes a bug that the player can perform a cape spin while flying (which can "Turn around while flying"), since the hijack is located before the "perform cape spin" routine. Also converted to sa-1 hybrid.

If you only want one of these effect, just set one of the first two defines to zero. Setting both to zero will remove the patch from the ROM.

Tested with:
- Lunar Magic 3.31
- SA-1 Pack 1.40
- Snes9x 1.60, Bsnes-plus 05
- Asar 1.81

Notes:
Handy update, the unpatch option is a nice addition, accepted.

It's mostly the same patch, just made it possible to toggle which fix to apply per defines instead of adding a semicolon somewhere in the patch. Heck, didn't you update it last time to add a check for cape flying?

Remoderation update: Removed warnings from Asar 1.81 for using two mappers at the same time, use Asar conditionals to toggle changes and because you can select, which options to enable, also added feature to remove patch.

I like this, but what If I want to make it easier to turn in the air?

Pretty simple.
I edited the description so people know that disabling one of the two features is easily done.
Usually, I'd say to have it as two seperate patches but seeing as the difference is really only 1-2 ORA lines and on the same hijack no less, I feel like it would be a waste to make 2 patches out of this.

Actually, I discovered it (that's my .gif), and Alcaro made this patch after seeing the gif. Also it's fixed on my Powerups patch.

I noticed this on super Mario advance 2! God I should've report this on smwc instead of waiting till now, thank god LX5 have discovered this and Alcaro fix it.

Edit: now tells the truth.
