Description: | This is the collaboration hack of SMWCentral's 11th Vanilla Level Design Contest from 2019. The collab originally started as an unofficial compilation by AnEvilGhost in 2020, and picked back up by Stivi in November of 2021 This hack contains 111 entries + one unranked level, with 116 exits in total, all spread out in a big overworld for you to freely explore. Unlike in previous VLDCs, there are no judge levels to unlock, making this game's credits accessible from the start. Additionally, you can instantly clear any levels you want with a cheat code that's given to you in the Yoshi house. With that being said, have fun with the hack! Version 1.1 - Fixed grinders going through walls in Mountan Castle. - Removed the side exit in the Green Switch Palace. - Fixed the overworld Koopa slowly going up, away from his original position. - Changed internal ROM name. Version 1.2 - Gave the second part of Grandma's Paradise ice physics. Version 1.3 - Added a moon icon on Daizo's level. - Fixed a baserom bug where long rope mechanisms act like short ones. - Fixed the 3rd save file (MARIO C) deleting all save data. Version 1.4 - Fixed a secondary exit in "don't climb mountains" - Fixed a typo in "Adventurous Ascent" |

I changed the internal rom name for this hack. If anyone wants to open the rom in LM to take a look at the levels or overworld, patch this to the rom:
However, The Hack works fine in SNES9X
Open Lunar Magic And Says That The Author Of The Hack Has Restricted Level Access, And Recover Lunar Magic Says That This SNES Is Not Protected.
Also, I'm sad that Muncher Mountain (the level unjustly disqualified for setting its timer to 501) was excluded from this hack. I would've liked to see it included with an "asterisk" regarding its rank, or how it would've ranked, maybe as if it had gotten a small score penalty instead of an outright DQ.
@SomeGuy712x: um did you make the Muncher Mountain level or did someone else make it?
though I'm still waiting for the actual soundtrack download for VLDC11, which is not available yet

In the level Vanilla Emulation, by Samuel Zuccati, the third Yoshi coin (which appears in the "part 2" room) seems to be impossible to get at first, but playing further into the level, a checkpoint 1-up is eventually triggered, unlocking "part 3".
At that point, revisiting "part 2" reveals that a cement bridge to the Yoshi coin is now present, along with an additional door that I assume was meant to take the player back to the "part 3" route.
However, all that door does is reset "part 2", just like the other reset door nearby. You can't go back through the pipe you entered "part 2" from, and the cement bridge prevents you from clearing "part 2" again the normal way, so you're trapped in "part 2", and have to die (or Start+Select) to escape. And, that means it's not possible to collect all of the Yoshi coins in one trip through the level.
So, was the screen exit for the door that appears next to that Yoshi coin assigned incorrectly in this hack by mistake? (I know that I could just collect all the other Yoshi coins in one run, and they'd be saved thanks to how this hack works, and then I could come back for the missed Yoshi coin that would leave me trapped in "part 2", but I believe that all Yoshi coins were originally meant to be obtainable in just one visit.)
EDIT: The level's author just told me that it was actually a legit oversight on their part, so the level was originally submitted with that door's screen exit resetting "part 2" by mistake. Oops. At least this hack's ability to save Yoshi coins will allow me to get credit for them all anyway.
Alright, thanks. It figures that the very first Yoshi coin was a Map16 insertion for some reason, making me wonder if I had stumbled upon a glitch.
Something about that doesn't seem right. I kinda wanted to try earning all 5 Yoshi coins the normal way, and this defeats the purpose. Is this a glitch in the way the hack saves progress or something?
what emulator will open on android tv?
it fixes some bugs and oversights.
#1 worst imo is Athletic Synergy pure cancer 🤮 👎👎 Can't even get past it with save states.
And ik that's why they're in the low rank category but dang talk about a bad level. If you miss the jump on the fish they put invisible troll blocks to trap you in forcing you to die. Not even worth the trouble. That's the only level I had to skip.
Overall though an enjoyable hack!
I'll try to get this fixed asap, and for the time being, DON'T CHOOSE MARIO C.
Could somebody please help me play the game ?!
I will enjoy it very much.
GG AnEvilGhost!!
GG Stivi!!
*has a seizure*
Opening it in ZSNES will not work, unless you use the 8MB version of ZSNES, which we don't recommend doing.
Okay, fair enough, so I won't use ZSNES. I attempted to open it in Snes9x v1.52, and this message displayed:
And then after that, the screen remained black without going anywhere. I'm probably gonna have to use an updated Snes9x or a different emulator. Well, I'll deal with that later.
seriously, why are you & a few others are still using old/outdated versions of snes9x or even old emulators like zsnes for that matter, sheesh?
the latest stable version of snes9x was 1.60 released almost 3 years ago in april 2019
The VLDC10 and VLDC12 will be release soon too?
VLDC10 or VLDC X, highly unlikely.
VLDC12, maybe.
the older VLDC6, on the other hand, is in the works - someone else posted a working VLDC6 version in the forums WIP (works in progress) section
I already know every single entry from this but it's fun to go back to some of my old favorites (as well as my own level).
Amazing job with this hack Stivi and everyone involved! That overworld is sure something else, it's gorgeous and there's so many little sprites and twists and turns that make it feel really alive! Super impressive!
Really glad to see everyone's efforts 3 years ago finally made it into a collab hack!
