Description: | Intended to be used if you have Davros's SMB3 Lakitu sprite inserted and for hacks using the SMW Redrawn base. Anyways, Redrawn-styled SMB3 Lakitu. Comes in two variations for the cloud based on if you prefer it be slightly more shaded and aliased to give it some minor volume or not. Please note that Redrawn Spinning Spiny shell graphics existed out there since 2008 made by Boingboingsplat, but they do not come with this download. However, a palette file that supports Row C and D exists for the vanilla Spiny and Spiny Egg sprite, and as well as custom sprites that use said Spiny Egg graphics that Lakitu may throw... Extract to your ExGraphics folder and insert it into your given level's SP4 slot. Give credit if used. |

That is not the fault of the graphic but the way Davros coded his Lakitu sprite. Graphical reskins for custom sprites can only do so much based on whatever inaccuracy in the function of the sprite a coder committed. Artists are only responsible insofar as the reskin matches the tilemapping seen with the sprite.
That's true, but I feel that we as artists also have a responsibility to only support or not those sprites/blocks (support meaning by making graphics for them) which we want to encourage others to use, which in my opinion this sprite isn't suitable for. Making graphic resources that help aid others in using a sprite is sort of like endorsing that sprite's usage, no?
Having experienced SMWC at its most elitist I would also rather not return to snobbing towards people's work for not being up to some nebulous standard of polish, some people have different tastes and that's okay. The graphics look good, are readable, and the sprite is in the section. It meets the guidelines and that is good enough for me.
Just had to change screenshot at this time to show it in a more fitting context.
EDIT: image was replaced, here is the context: https://web.archive.org/web/20221113072518im_/https://dl.smwcentral.net/image/95283.png
