Super Mario Bros. 3 - Blooper

SMW Sprites → Super Mario Bros. 3 - Blooper

Submission Details

Name: Super Mario Bros. 3 - Blooper
Author: MarioFanGamer
Added:
Tool: PIXI
Type: Standard
Dynamic: No
Disassembly: No
Includes GFX: Yes
Description: This is a port of SMB3's Blooper, a squid which either chases the player or "randomly" moves around. It can come either seldom or as Blooper Nanny with small Bloopers following around.

Note that for the Blooper Nanny, due to the high amount of tiles used by this sprite, it is recommend to use No More Sprite Tile Limits / SA-1 Pack.

The only issue I noticed is that it doesnt have its own sprite<->sprite interaction routine call, but doesn't have "Don't interact with other sprites" bit set in its configuration, leading to inconsistent interaction with e.g. thrown shell (slot-based), similar to vanilla thwimps, thwomps and etc.

Also, do note that even though the .json calls non-following variety "random", it's not really random - it moves based on player's face direction, and can be manipulated (which is how it is in the original Super Mario Bros. 3).

can you make the blooper with babies, dying in the way it does it like in SMB3 and also adding the blooper nanny with babies version that throw the babies like this in the smb3 6-9 level?? https://youtu.be/2kAueicUgd8

Are these Bloopers suppose to swim through solid objects or can they interact solid objects?

Code is adapted from SMB3 so block interaction is included.
