| Description: | This UberASM will "steal" any of the 4 valid power-up states that Mario can be in (Big, Flower, Cape and Star) when you press L or R, and store the corresponding power-up in the item box. (As seen in my KLDC 2022 entry "Save It For Later"). Note: if Mario has a power-up AND has star power, e.g. cape and star, this ASM will steal the star power first. Only pressing L/R after stealing the star will steal the power-up. This ASM comes with a few options: - you can give Mario a handful of invincibility frames as if he took damage, to give players leeway to react - you can disable stealing the star power altogether to prevent unintended use of the star - you can enable dropping an existing power-up from the item box when stealing |
