Description: Download, unzip, and patch ROM hacks all in one go!

You can search SMW and YI hacks on SMWCentral's catalogue directly from within the tool. The tool will download, unzip, and patch them automatically.

This tool also offers a simple hack-management interface:
- List hacks present in one folder
- Run hack in the emulator
- Delete a hack

For the documentation and source code, you can check out the GitHub repository.

The version listed on this page is for Windows 10 or newer. You can find the download links for macOS and Windows 7 or older on the download page.

The tool tries to open the SFC file with the default app set in the operating system. I think that in order to make it work with RetroArch I should let the user specify the emulator's path and command line args, which is not possible currently. Maybe I'll tend to that in the future.

found a plaster solution. for others who want a short-term workaround and don't mind downloading more software, you can use this piece to circumvent the problem. just put the core dll filename in the json file included and "always open" in windows with this executable.

This has been implemented by elegist and it's available on version 2.3.0 on GitHub.

One day I'll update the submission here on SMWCentral, but I want to make sure to include some more new features before bothering the moderator.

does anyone have an idea of how to use this tool w/ retroarch? it seems to not launch properly if .SFCs are set to launch via retroarch

I can't find any rules/site guidelines about the use of smwc's ajax.php for the search functionality and/or bypassing of smwcentral.net for downloads. Can any admins speak to the continued use of this tool?

It is fine. The tool uses our public API, which is designed for this kind of use.

Holy crap! Thank you so much for this! Now, I don't need to go through my 100+ messy SMW Romhack's folder! #smw{^_^;}

The fact that the .bps file doesn't show up probably means that the tool is failing to download the archive or unzip the downloaded archive. No .bps file means there is nothing to patch and no .sfc file is produced (only .sfc files are shown in the "hacks" section).

However, in case something goes wrong, an error message should appear below the "download" button. Does this happen with every hack you try to download, or just one?

When I press on download it creates the folder with the .bps file in it. But it doesn't patch it for some reason so It doesn't show up in the "hacks" section

EDIT: It works now. Seems like it was a problem with my SMW ROM.

Glad it works, and thanks for reporting. I should make sure to display some error message in case patching doesn't work.

When I download a hack, it does download it and creates a folder, but it doesn't show up in the "hacks" section and it's not patching the .bps file.

This is awesome! It allows me to skip the annoying sifting through folders and patching part of starting a new hack!
