Flame Block

It's not without its quirks, but this is a cute block that can be used in plenty of inventive ways.

• Contrary to what the screenshot might imply, a sprite doesn't have to be kicked to destroy the flame - any sprite that can interact with objects will extinguish the flame just by touching it. A mushroom, a fleeing Yoshi, a dead shell falling off the screen, anything. While I would appreciate an option in a future update to make the flame killable under more specific circumstances, I do actually like the open-endedness of the block as-is.
  
  
• While riding Yoshi, the player's hitbox is high enough that one can simply walk over this block unharmed; the player can even safely duck (most of the time). It's interesting, if unintentional.
  
  
• Dragging sprites through this block with Yoshi's tongue can trigger some harmless oddities, like burning up the sprite but still putting it in Yoshi's mouth to spit out again.
  
  
• This block can't be extinguished with a cape spin if it's placed on Layer 2. It still seems to work fine with sprites, though.
  
  
• Be aware, the flame graphics shown in the screenshot are not included in the download.
  
  
• There are a few significant inefficiencies in the code that aren't enough to warrant a rejection. In the future, I highly suggest making binary toggles (for example, the "sprite killed by flame" vs. "sprite kills the flame" option) into a conditional compilation using if/endif as I've described for your other block. It would also be nice if the hurt/kill option didn't require the user to manually enter the respective address calls, but that's comparatively minor.
