Description: This is an attempt to do something I promised myself a long time ago that I would try: make a serious, somber hack, something attempting to be artistic or poetic.

It will be at times sad and uncomfortable. The levels are thought-out, if basic. The messages are a look at dysphoria, at least insofar as I've dealt with gender dysphoria in my life. The space between these two parts and the overarching sensation I’m trying to conjure is meant to allow a glimpse at an individual experience in a way usually reserved for other media.

Success or failure will happen on an individual level with each player. If I fail for you, please know I failed trying.

If you play this, thank you.

I played 1.0 and had a really good time with it. Very cool and thoughtful hack, and stands as a great example of how romhacking can be a personal and expressive artform beyond level design, but also it just has some really fun levels in a style that resonates with me. Loved the chill music selections which made the experience really immersive. Dysphoria definitely succeeded for me, thank you for making it.

a very somber and meaningful hack that takes itself completely seriously, something you don't see often in kaizo. some levels are very frustrating and stressful but given the subject matter i think that's the point. the jumps are tight, the movement is odd, and there is little time to breathe, but persevering and finishing this romhack felt truly rewarding - an analogy for something bigger. im glad i didn't give up on my playthrough and i'm glad you didn't give up either.

For me, you succeeded. And then some.
