There were a few levels here and there, and a few rooms in bowsers castle that were just "what the hell do I do here" with some obscure mechanics that I ended up looking up - I don't know if it's fair criticism to say "please give me hint block" but it sure was helpful in some levels to have them, and I sure wish they'd all had them!
Depraved bean hole could have used a couple more checkpoints. That had unbelievably long stretches.
The final-final boss fight was just stellar. Great way to bring back a lot of fun little pieces throughout the hack. I think a mushroom would have helped reduce potential frustration overall though.
I LOVED the little completionist boxes for the moons! With the way the overworld was built, this feels like a much better way to tell me where the last few bits to clean up are.
Overall I loved this hack, but I feel like the alternating kaizo and standard difficulty wasn't the best choice - I recognize that there are simply too many kaizo contributions to exclude kaizo or to relegate it to a "secret world" of literally half the hack, but I think a good choice would have at least to have made each kaizo level a dead end/side level that was optional for completion. Or if nothing else, offered a weenie or "skip" exit for these stages and a secret exit as the legitimate exit. And maybe give the player a bean-head if they skip the kaizo. Something to allow folks to see it, but not be forced to play it. The real tragedy to me is how many folks won't be able to enjoy it because they will hit hard kaizo walls pretty quick.
Thanks for all the beans, all of you who worked on this!
